This Deinonychus looks beautiful! It's a nice addition to anyone's collection.

Thanks for sharing! I find it's beautiful... but I have a lot of problems with it. - The legs articulations are very, very stiff, and yet the feet articulations are very loose. Since the base that holds the dino is using a little plastic staple that holds the foot, you got stiffness that is a problem to change the position of the leg AND a loose articulation that is a problem to hold the figure. (it should be the opposite, I hope we agree on that :D ) - The feathers from the hands should have covered a lot more surface. When you set the hand bent a bit too high, it creates a gap between the hand's feathers and the forearm's feathers, and it's ugly. Most bigger dinos raptors do that, and even very very small 1/18th velociraptors do that. It's not a problem of scale.. - The base holding the dino is cheap. I have no other words. It's the same than the mini 1/18th velociraptors but a bit bigger. While other dinos from the same size as the Deinonychus (1/6th buitreraptor/microraptor/mononychus) have a more substantial base with more options to hold than just a staple and a strange arm. (I'm not even talking about dioramas, that's an other category). Those bases are more evocative of a scenery and look like real ground, instead of transparent plexiglas that looks artificial. - The jaw of mine can't close correctly, so it's mouth is always open. I mean, even those 1/18th velociraptors have a mouth that can close. In conclusion, I am very afraid about this new dino. I feal that they are trying to make it more cheap even though it has more articulations than most older models of this size, by cutting cost in the base, in the study of the articulations, and it sends very bad signals about the health of the company. It's that, or it's a choice because they genuinely thought those changes would make the figure better, and then I am afraid those problems would spread out to every new figures. I don't regret buying it but man... I'm more frustrated with this one than with a lot of other figure they done. Articulations makes their figure frustrating by essence because one need a lot of work just to make the figure standing, but that's part of the product and I dare say we love it. But this one... I felt more frustration, even more than some of the piece I have that are losing limbs. Let's hope they find a solution.

This is not what I was expecting, it lacks the usual BOTM quality. The main problem for me its that the ankles look weird and swollen, it looks like a Deinonychus with boots and the paint application on the legs doesn't help. Great review as always.

Might want to give the little critter a hot bath (or just the headpiece). The copy I have the jaw closes flush and doesn’t have a underbite 😅
