I like how werewolvves look in the Howling and Dog soldiers where they are slender but muscular. They have a swimmer/track runner muscles but tall. My theory why the Norskin versions are more muscular is no doubt due to them breeding them. Maybe there is even ones that are servants of the various chaos gods with markings and such denonating which one. Khorne:Covered in gore, symbol tattoo all over, and has skulls on its belt. Norscans are more disciplined that Southerners give them credit for. Some set up fake villages filled with slaves so they can have young Norscans raid them as part of their training. Add that kind of discipline with their reverence for mutations and the like and a Norscan skinwolf breeding program is not impossible. It also explains how the Norscans acquired enough skinwolves to form army units of them.

I might have added a twist that it wasn't the woodsman, it was one of his loved ones, so he sets out to pursue the monster only to end up killing the last of his loved ones. That's more a tragedy than a horror though...

To restore the horror, the woodsman is "infected," by the end, without his knowledge, as himself rebuilds his life. And then one night, with his own children and grandchildren comfortable beneath him, his small shrine to lost wife besides him, when suddenly he suffers a heart attack, blacks out, and wakes up in an unknown den, in an unknown area, with Witchhunters yelling all around. The cycle turns and turn, grinding as many beneath its uncaring surface that can fit.

Just a thought: Perhaps another layer of creepiness could be added to the Skin Wolves. The bigger the difference between the man and the beast inside, the more violent the transformation and the less memory is retained. Your woodcutter remembers nothing of butchering his family, but as he becomes the monster he is trying to avenge, his memories come back, his transformations become less random, until the man is lost in the beast... I submit that might capture the real grimdark of Warhammer!

Yes, i already planned story board etc in my head, but sadly 17century peasant houses with period correct wooden plates and full interiors etc, specially ones where you can plash blood all over are bit hard to come by these days.. also finding suitable actors with essentially zero budget would be touch, when you tell them you are going coat them in blood and visceral.. of real kind since why make effects, if you dont make them realistic for perfect effect on the viewer.. vomit if all possible, since almost none of the movies i have seen, have been able to show proper effects of torn to peaces corpse. Also there is not many who can essentially method act psychotic breakdown that would come from seeing your beloved family suddenly being torn to peaces. I think i could pull it off but there is no fucking way i would fit to role of lumberjack of the period. CGI would be one option but its extremely difficult to get right textures and mentioned visceral effects required. To pull off what i have in my head would be expensive and time consuming effort, but i do hope someone got excited enough to pull it off. Remember to talk to ER doctors for specific information on how say guy being attacked by bear and one sucked into combine harvester looks like. What kind of damage you can expect from this kind of beast biting, slashing and crushing. Also might want to look how wolfs attack their pray, but those hunt for food.. this one hunts for sake of blood lust, so actions should be more violent, but still beastial in nature.. ou and there is plenty of videos of cartel executions etc to show human side of this beast... yeah you might want to skip the meal and give though or two on will your sanity be able to handle all that research material first.....To be put simply, you need to be able to laugh at any horror movie made and those have zero effect on you to be able to view worst parts of the humanity make manifest in this beast of blood, that shows audience what true blood lust of such being is and its effects on standard human... Its going to be messy, disturbing and take lots of effort, but guess that is the reason why you rarely see movies like that and its questionable could you even show such film on any public platform, or does it need to be spread via less well known channels that tend to not get you any money for your effort...

I was under the impression that werewolves in Warhammer fantasy were created when the war-god Ulrich mated with Mortal women. There are/was Children of Ulrich and Sons of Ulrich (some are also werewolves because what better way to prove how they descend from Ulrich). Children of Ulrich are werewolves and the Cult of Ulric considers it to be a curse,the Church of Sigmar considers then to be Chaos abominations, some might consider then being blessed (and this was true in the distant past) but I considering both Sigmarites and Ulricans have the view they should be exterminated even if not everyone agrees to go to such extreme.

This doesn't even have to be a Warhammer game per se, but one where you play a Witchhunter sent to your average backwoods village and have to deduce what is causing all these deaths, with various causes like Vampires, Werewolves, Mutants or Chaos Cultists would be fascinating. Like taking Phantasmagoria, with a full single player/RPG campaign.

One of the better, age of sigmar audio books I have actually deals with skin wolves or something similar. There it was actively some kind of chaos curse, a dawrth and his human companion had raided a tomb or temple and found an artafact on a mummified skin wolf. And this artafact started to slowly corrupt the group into skin wolves. I found it quite entertaining as save for the heros of the story working for one of the God heros of age of sigmar the story was largely bereft of the usual short comings that plague age of sigmar story wise

Honestly, I love the concept of Werewolves ever since I first played Skyrim and became one years ago. And watching this video, many many times, I've fallen in love with this concept of Werewolves in particular. And no matter how many times I watch this I never fail to enjoy it immensely. I just loved how Arch described them as "almost Wendigo" and that story he came up with is spine chilling, especially with how he concluded it with the word "outwards". How he said it is still spine chilling to me to this day. I love Skinwolves so much, and Arch is a HUGE reason why. So thanks Arch, you made a Norscan/Skinwolf fan out of me.

Man back in the day of my Warhammer youth I had two factions that I made that were different they were home brew the weretooths and the web weavers were formed with creature Lore the weretooths were skaven who got infected by a werewolf in Sylvania so these skaven where permanently transformed they had dwarven armor and carried huge battle axes they would hire themselves out as mercenaries and bodyguards every once in a while they would trick their own clan members by Moon tooth to go into Sylvania get infected to make new generations of wererats they would make their homes above ground where their howls could be heard above skaven bright the web weavers where elves who transform into elven spiders they are a Lost colony who went deep into the Earth they found an spider egg in the deep caverns it had lush valleys and night forest's purple rivers and canyons and purple waterfalls but in their new Paradise the skaven warlord rot tooth LED an invasion Force into their colony during the war the elven mage who was there leader suffered a huge wound but managed to push the skaven back using her life force she put it into the egg before she died she told them to take care of the egg because it was their salvation to look after it knowing the skaven would return they went deeper into the caverns and they took the egg with them they founded a new settlement area build a huge tower to protect the egg over the years the new colony flourished but then tragedy struck as a night goblin war host came out of the shadows of the caverns casualties were mounting but the egg hatched in the tower and she was born of the body of beautiful but horrifying elf but the features of a spider her teeth was razor sharp her hair was black as midnight her for hands had razor sharp talons and her purple five eyes when she emerged from the tower her scream terrified the night goblins where they stood in the middle of the colony settlement where the elves were holding off and then she descended on them ripping and tearing on them seening this the night goblins were terrified and retreated as the elven colonist redoubled their efforts and attack them from behind the night goblins were wiped out they looked at their new savior in shock and dismay but recognize her as their mage leader locana she said looking at her people am proud you survived this long knowing that her people cannot survive another attack she told them that she needed a hundred of their best warriors lots of the warriors of their colony volunteered she then wrapped and weaved them into a giant web above the colony and told her people to be mindful of the skaven that are returning she descended into the web with her children and went back to sleep years went by and the colony flourished and as foretold rotten tooth return with his skaven army but this time the colonists we're prepared and met him at the walls of the city as the battle fought for two days the skaven could not break through the walls until screaming Bell broke through their walls and breaking the minds of the elven defenders as storm vermin in the thousands storm into the beach of the wall as everything seemed lost locana and her brood descended from the giant web above the City as webs pulled skaven into the air and then their body parts would descend back into the skaven host the skaven broken in fright as the spider host landed right into the middle of the skaven war host ripping and tearing as rot tooth try to flee but then locana use a web to pull down the screaming Bell on top of him crushing his entire body the skaven expedition never made it out of the caves alive so that was web Weaver's man that was a lot of fluff but these were the two factions that i created when I was younger hope this interest you all in creating your own factions with creature lure

The transformation described reminds me of the effects for the Netflix series 'Hemlock Grove'; with the wolf form eating the discarded viscera after the change. Certainly a far more primal image than simply shifting shape.
