The checkmate from the knight moving to h6 is just so savage, I could definitely understand how even a GM could miss the possibilities there. Also thank you Antonio, about a year ago I knew almost nothing about chess but you have really helped show me the beauty of the game with your coverage of the great masters of the past and I am completely hooked at this point, cannot go a day without a battle on the 64 squares.

I'm not that high rated, but I play 1.b3 and I have more Nh6 mates than I can count in blitz and bullet. Anytime black plays g6 I'm looking to position my knight on f5 or g4. Usually it happens whenever black fianchettos there and they trade off the bishops and my queen recaptures on b3 followed by Nh6#.

I think it's interesting when you look at this in the context of AlphaZero/stockfish games you show also. There really is something to the idea of pushing queenside pawns early on to open the diagonals rather than seeking the center first.

I had a game on lichess today where my opponent played 1. b3, but it was the early e3 line. The game ended up being one of my fastest draws ever - I blundered a pawn, but then I gave up two pieces to shatter the white's kingside and go for a threefold repetition on move 16. Then I found out that as far as lichess database went, it was never a new game - in fact, there were 13 games with the exact same moves, so I guess that's what they call "a well-known drawing line".

It only took something like 2 years of following agadmator, but I finally found the move a GM missed. Woohaw.

f3 it good, launch a queen fiancheto. But that opening not strike center, weak. But this opening still underated. Thank for Aron Nimzowitsch, and Bent-Larsen for idea.

I,too, like to play 3.c4 and delay e3 in a blitz game...I like when I see GMs do things that I used to do in my earlier chess days... Makes me 🤔🤔🤔.. "so I was on to something and didn't even know it?"

Yes dominated Navara.... for two games anyway. Both the round two matches were decent reasonably competitive affairs where everyone was going for a win. It was nice.

For first time in my life I found out the correct move, then Agadmator said "It's not an easy move to find, even a Grandmaster missed it." So "oh well", I said to myself and immediately discarded the move.
