In January 2021, a decree that made early and forced marriage illegal was enacted. “This law will help girls a lot, because sometimes girls get married, not by their own decision, but sometimes they are married for money, property issues or abuse,” says Melany who advocates for girls' rights.
"I would recommend to all girls who are thinking of entering marriages at such a young age that they are better getting into other things that could be productive in the long run such as sports, activities, productive courses like English, technical courses and things like that," concludes Melany.
