The spears initial hit will scale with physical dmg (hence why you were impressed with the first hit at 50 str and dex) and the second hit is pretty much dependent on holy buffs and faith lvl, at 20 faith for elden beast (this should be obvious why holy sucks) no wonder it underperformed for you 40 faith is a good sweet spot if you want to only use the spear while still having a challenge

You could try a Malenia run. With her armour sword and spell , but no healing flasks. You heal back only using her great rune by attacking. You could only use FP flasks.

Fun fact: There was actually something close to 'Cleanrot Knights' in real world history. The Order of St. Lazarus was a Levant Crusade-era Knightly Order formed in Jerusalem, consisting almost exclusively of leprosy victims. They were sometimes called the most dreadful amongst all the Christian troops. After the Order was created, other knightly orders such as the Templars, Teutons Hospitallers would send their own lepers to join the Knights of Lazarus (or Lazarists), so that they could continue to fight against the Ayyubids. The Lazarists had a fearsome reputation for unbreakable morale- as for them, there was no real retreat. They would rather die in battle than from their disease. Combatants of the Mamluk Sultanate at the Siege of Acre apparently said that fighting the Lazarists who manned the walls was like 'fighting the dead, risen from graves to haunt us'. However, for all their grim discipline and fanaticism, the Lazarists were always few in number, and superior tactics on the part of their enemies like the Ayyubids and the Mamluks (who actually knew how and when to effectively retreat and redeploy) meant that the Lazarists never really turned the tide of any battles they fought in, despite the fear they inspired.

I personally love the Cleanrot Knights. All the weapons and armour belonging to them, the lore behind them As well is some of my favourite, with them basically accepting that the rot will eventually kill them. Also, although I love the rings of light, I’m really sad that the scythe doesn’t come with that unique buff that they do

The cleanrot spear is a favorite of mine, the only standard spear I really like. I do wish we got a proper Cleanrot boss. FS did them a disservice using them unchanged *twice* as boss fights

I love how in every fight the weapon swapping is so smooth, and then in the radagon fight - whilst having all hell chucked at him - says “Loreta’s thing is annoying me” and discardes it so he can hotswap faster it’s so funny

I’m still kinda upset the spear cant also create a line of spears that go out vertically, like the enemy Cleanrot knights can do. Low key sorta a nerf to the spear. Cleanrot Knight gear is the coolest look though in the game IMO. Except the helmet dont care for its design, but you need it for the red streaks. Or I use the Melania helmet. XD red hair.

this is literally my first playthrough. confessor starting class, halo scythe, blessing's boon. i even used the full armor set at some point (supposed to be a rare drop but i got it pretty fast). just throw in some ancient dragn incantations lol

the cleanrot set is actually pretty good, not gonna lie, it is both lighter and better at defense in almost every stat, if not every stat than most armors around the same weight as it. on top of that it is so fancy and goes with almost anything else gold or even just yellow, yeah thats right this goes with the dang goldmask. respect the haligtree damnit

16 minutes in but there's a overlooked somber 5 you can just run up to from Swamp of Aeonia, it's guarded by the graven mass in the nook to the north of the swamp (the one directly south of the Caelid/Siofra lift) by all the crystals and it's practically right next to Sellia Crystal Mine

I've farmed every single item in ER, and my god the enemies (like Cleanrots) that drop more than 1 item are so annoying. Nothing like getting 14 helmets, 12 chest pieces, and 17 leggings after 100 runs when all you want is 1 pair of gauntlets

I think a status effect run would be cool Like you can only attack until poison, rot, etc procs then you have to evade the attacks until the status goes away then you can attack until another proc. Change status type for every boss

Honestly the cleanrot spear is my favorite weapon and i remember 2-3 months ago looking all over your channel for a vid where you used it and i couldn't find it. I am so glad you did this challenge, the weapons is actually so fun to use imo. It also gets rarely used in PVP apperantly because every time i use the ash of war people just.. don't know what it does? They run into the AoE 😭

23:40 I'd prefer if it were based off of the amount of enemies killed directly relating to the items you can get. Killing 15 or so cleanrot knights unlocks the ability to buy anything that they drop, and for every Knight you kill after 15, the items get a 1% rune discount until it is 50% off permanently. This means that the buy and sell price of an item dropped by enemies will be the exact same. Anymore than 50% discount will mean you can buy the item for less than what you can get for selling it. Or, alternatively, after 50 the discount continues but for the sell and buy prices. So after killing 115 of a single enemy, all of their drops are available for free at the twin maiden husks with the tradeoff of selling anything they drop to anyone in the Lands Between will result in 0 runes. However, for those who don't know, Rats have a very small chance to drop rune arcs and they are also a very plentiful enemy in the game. To my knowledge, they are the only enemy in the game that can drop infinite rune arcs, and having infinite rune arcs would be detrimental to the gameplay itself. So, I propose that some items would be unavailable for infinite purchase from the twin maidens, or at the very least, sold at a high rune price to make it for it being infinite. however, if anyone is going to take my idea and implement it as a QoL mod, please have it to where you can change the amount of enemies needed to kill to get the shop open, or the amount needed to kill to get the full discount. Of course, I don't expect anyone to take my idea, and I certainly don't mind if they do.

Suprisingly Malenia is easier to rot than some other bosses, she has the highest resistance on paper but in reality just barely higher than Placidusax and Theodoryx while having lot more hp than those two and you can also land combos on her.

Actually haligtree blessing is able to be used by all the cleanrot knights it's just rare The player can receive the buff aswell if they invade near the knights it's also a damage negation buff aswell as regeneration

I have thought about a build called “The Storm Knights” but I think it works best with 7 players. I would like to see all 7 players have to build up the builds throughout as they slowly gather their equipments. (This is an all remembrances run) Armor: Banished Knight Helm, Exile Armor, Banished Knight Greaves, Banished knight gauntlets (all nonaltered) Talismans: Dragoncrest Greatshield, Pearl Drake +2, Shard of Alexander/Arrow Sting, Carian Filagreed Crest/Arrow Sting Weapons: (multiple can be used until all weapons/AoW are available) Partisan with Storm Assault Veteran’s Prosthesis Knight’s Greatsword with Storm Blade Zweihander with Storm Stomp Guardian’s Swordspear with Storm Caller Stormhawk Axe (Not from Nepheli but there is one in Royal Capital) Albinauric Bow with Mighty Shot only using Stormhawk Arrows 99 vigor is a stat goal. No using whetblades to change the weapon to anything that isn’t physically. It can be standard, Keen, Quality, or heavy but the ash of wars deal more damage with what it normally comes as

Halo Scythe is my favorite weapon in the game, and it made me so sad to get all the disc of light incantations after using the halo scythe because its weapon art was so much better.

The idea of the shop does sound nice but balancing wise, it seems OP the way you layed out. Maybe do something similar to DS2 forlorn items where you have to kill them X number of times to receive all the pieces. So using cleanrit knights as an example you need to kill them 4 times for all 4 pieces of armor a 5th time for the sword then after that kill one scythe and one spear to get their respective weapons.
