Crystal sorceries get slept on, especially crystal release it's actually amazing against big bosses(expect fire giant cause fire giant just fucken sucks). You get under a boss thats like a dragon? That shit fucken chunks

Honestly would've been nice if crystal weapons could actually be infused and that there were some actual Crystallian AoWs for you to slap onto stuff. Like an Aquamarine Dagger-esque augmentation or something. Lots of cool magic and theme types got shafted tbh. Sleep/St. Trina items, Frozen Lightning, Thorn Sorceries, ARC/INT builds in general...

@@asimplekoala6687INT builds got shafted? I'd say mage builds are among the most powerful ones in the game, rivaling even bleed builds. And they're viable in both PvE and PvP. Some of the most dangerous invaders like to use mage builds. I haven't tested melee INT though yet, maybe those are weaker.

@@rileymiller3154 because all bows have terrible scaling, but they still put in the effort to make sure every build has a usable bow. Even strength has the misbegotten shortbow. Tbh I always just use the harp bow for status application and shattershard arrows and never bother to use them as weapons. Hopefully the dlc will fix bows

I think I'm so desensitized in how every 'Challenge' run I've seen focuses on breaking their game, rather than encourage the challenge part of challenge runs. This is a breath of fresh air, not seeing margit's hp disappear with X number of buffs, with a legel 70+ Character, a dead giant dragon, and a nearly maxed out weapon. In short, I prefer how you either intentionally or unintentionally chose not to break your build straight away.

Charging Shattering Crystal makes it do goofy amounts of damage. I usually cast then charge cast then charge. The charged increases damage, poise damage (greatly) and range as well as width of the attack. It can be very good in PvE and PvP if used well.

@@nottherealspartan Yep! Even adds a weak explosion to it. (A very weak one) basically an extra shatter effect. Requires slightly more precise dodges in PvP otherwise does not change much.

The first time I used the crystalian summon and really got a good look at the face I laughed for about a minute strait. Dude looks like a farquaad maui head and I love it.

I'm doing same but for night sorcery. My first thing to do after getting night comet was obtaining gold scarb. It helps a lot with these runs as you can shorten the time needed to obtain level requirements

I know you can technically cheese O'Neil in the swamp for access to Night Maiden's Mist and Night Shard, but I recently saw a video where someone blasted him down with Night Comet, and holy HELL that looks fun!

@@nichmcintosh2699 You need to take out O'Neil to get the needle for Millicent. Without that, Night Shard and NMM aren't accessible. The only night sorceries you can access without him dead are Ambush Shard and Night Comet (and _technically_ Eternal Darkness) which is what I was referring to in my original comment.

I got up to level 40 recently on a Crystalian only character as well! Been using the Spear for most of it because those sorceries are such high level, and I’m used to playing melee. It’s a fun challenge, I’ll be making notes.

As someone who's unfamiliar with spells, I'm noticing a pattern. Most spells that are considered 'bad' are actually very strong against enemies with big hitboxes. Others, very strong against enemies that dodge a lot. And a few very strong against swarms of enemies. Seems like a very flexible playstyle that not many try to diversify.

Crystal Torrent is a really good sorcery if you ask me Sure it’s not as powerful nor as area affecting as Comet Azur, but that both adds a bit of challenge, it’s more FP efficient (the amount of times I’ve failed to kill an enemy due to running out of FP from Comet Azur is just dumb) and you should really only use Comet Azur against enemies that are either really big and won’t try to avoid it, or enemies that are completely still (like Malenia when she uses Scarlet Aeonia), and while Crystal Torrent isn’t great against small enemies, it can still be serviceable against larger enemies Like how earlier tonight, when I fought Ancient Dragon Lansseax and killed her with three barrages from Crystal Torrent, the only reason it took three barrages was because I had to dodge her attacks in between If it’s not obvious I don’t know all the ways I could stack damage upon damage and get infinite FP momentarily, I’m a pretty simple sorcerer in that regard, but hey, I prefer it that way, if every boss is trivialized then the fun will die

I just want to point out that in your Godskin Duo fight, you use crystal torrent to kill the noble and then stop casting and switch focus to the apostle. You could've kept casting CT at the noble's corpse as it was dying to keep damaging the boss health bar for another second or two. also mohg counts in latin not spanish you silly goose

Nice run! So when it comes to your question about how much int is too much the quick answer is everything over 80. Long answer: 50 is the softcap for Int but you still get some pretty good damage till 80 which is the hardcap so you could've gotten some more Damage out of int. Also you could've gotten the Rotten Crystalian Staff to further boost the Damage of Crystalian Sorceries by Dual Wielding both Crystalian Staves but it's still less than you get out of Lusat'Damage. But not by much so you could've played either way and be fine. With Lusats you do have the extra FP cost though so that may have affected your decision. The only things you could've done to increase your Damage more is to run Red Feather Branch Sword for Hypermode, the Magic Scorpion Charm (unless I missed you getting it) and the Graven Mass Talisman for 8% more damage. Nice Playthrough and WP
