Never had any idea Dragonkin Soldier has that multi hit frost lightning attack lmao. So many enemies in this game have really cool attacks and whole extra phases you never see because they die so quickly.

I'm watching this pretty much right after seeing Gino's all-bosses no-hit run, and man, the difference is staggering. Understandably so, of course; Gino had the advantage of heavy prep, using the best weapon in each fight, and being the culmination of multiple attempts. But still, watching Dist making it up on the fly and having to devise his strategy for each boss as he went was a huge difference from Gino going in with a plan every step of the way.

6:43 The Epee actually has the *shortest* reach of all the heavy thrusting swords. Stitcher, Cragblade, and Helice are all even longer. It's kinda nutty

This looked fun. Maybe on a future run like this, you don't discard the weapon after dying to a boss like someone suggested in chat early on, but you do have to cycle to another one after each death for the next attempt. A weapon is only discarded/stored after beating a boss. So if you died a lot of times and run out of weapons, you gotta do that boss later when you find/can wield fresh weapons. Or maybe just keep fully cycling the weapons you currently have at each attempt without only using them once, whichever one sounds more fun.

Watching him deathless Malenia, GSD, Placidusax, then Maliketh back to back to back to back is so demoralising when it took me an my bro a solid 90 minutes on Maliketh with several deaths. In all seriousness though, it is astonishing and inspiring to see how much knowledge culminates into these runs and by extension becoming a challenge run player.

yeah they kicked my ass on the first playthrough. im pretty sure i eventually stopped and just came back later. very strange fight to throw in early on because they do not give you enough space to single either of the skellys out nor do you have the dps to quickly handle them either that early in the game

Would love to see a randomizer version of this run, probably couldn’t do the region lock ruling since you’re not guaranteed to get enough weapons in any one area but I think it be super cool to see!

Fun fact: if you backstep and then attack immediately after with a rapier (and another weapon that I don't remember) you get a cool unique attack!

You may be thinking of the scimitar. In previous games you would do a sick back flip on backstep attacking. Not sure if that is in ER though.

1:02:00 oh my god distortion, the number 1 rule for 80% of projectiles, ESPECIALLY HOMING ONES, is dodge into them. It is the only instinctual thing I have that is somewhat good.

So basically this is the Elden Ring Nuzlocke Pokemon = Weapon And because of the region lock Bosses = Trainers/Gym leaders All you need now is to randomize the weapon location every run to make it almost exactly like a Nuzlocke Also if the suggestion of ditching a weapon when you die to a boss is not that bad, this makes it harder to use throw away weapons on easy boss

I would really like to see a video where you use only weapons gained from remeberences and after each rememberance boss you have to switch the weapon. This could also apply to all dark souls games.

ds2 and 3 would be the only viable ones since you can get boss weapons really early on. In ds2 youd only need to kill Scorpioness Najka + Prowling Magus & Congregation and obtain 2 fragrant branches.

This run points out why light roll isn't as great as you think, especially with low vigor. You have ZERO POISE, and enemies are going to kick you around like a red-headed stepchild.

A shocking amount of people never use shields to do things like stop enemies from entering combos the bloodhound knight is a great example you can make that fight nothing with a shield cause you just need to stop the first strike in the combo

Dis, long time viewer and subscriber here. I’ve been binging your challenge runs for a while and I’ve been super curious as to where you get your mods from. Like when you doubled DS3 enemies or the cinders mod, or your Elden ring randomizers. I’ve been wanting to try stuff like this once I got them for PC (since Xbox can’t be modded sadly) but I never knew where to reliably get such mods. Keep the great work chugging man ❤

Ironically I am doing this now. I was under the impression I was "supposed" to this. I did defeat all of the bosses in Limgrave and need to take down 3 in the lakes. I have to get Ranni quest to unlock 2 of them and having difficulty on the death rite bird.
