Force of habit xd, normally i'm keeping up with the equipment and eventually I just decided to remove all armour on the downtime at the end of the run just for the sake of it and it stuck with me as a habit. Ggs on beating it, gl with the underworld!

yes, any yokai form, it's the yokai shift popping that does it, afaik only Yatsu no kami and ongyoki have that

Spirit stones are used mainly for amrita meter so i can use yokai shift. I don't level up at every chance because that would mean investing time to do so and not getting a relevant payout in levels, so it's better to level up less often and in bigger chunks so time is more optimized

Don't play Nioh 2 like Dark Souls/Elden Ring. Its totally different mechanically and demands totally different things of its players. If you're stuck, the co-op is a blast and you can usually find people - the community is small but loyal.
