Oh my God, your battle with Milotic taking 45 minutes was just like mine that took 30, and it was only the case because I had to paralyze it instead of letting the burn stay since she had full restores and recover, so I used the turns that she would not be able to move, and the ones she would heal up on, to heal the rest of my team so that they could be ready for Garchomp, I didn't have any direct counters to it either, seriously this battle with Cynthia was the toughest I've ever had in the modern age of Pokemon (since gen 5)

I think it's hilarious how for most of the 'HM' moves it's either a Bidoof or Bibarel who comes out to use it for you, considering how Bidoof was probably the most common HM mule in D/P/Pt. I feel sorta called out! XD

I honestly kind of hate it because I did the exact opposite. I tried to throw my HMs on my actual team so I could actually have 6 pokemon that I use. Never understood only using bibarel just for HMs when you could add another pokemon to your team

@@nmikk10 Well some people consider most hms to be useless therefore taking up a move slot. Having an hm mule allows your team to keep moves you want. Also hms are usually used to get from one town to another. So you switch bibarel in one town, get to the next town and then switch it back out, usually without missing a beat in the story.

The strength rocks for Wayward Cave were there originally in Diamond and Pearl and removed for Platinum. I'm guessing since you can also get Earthquake there too they added them again. Gible is only available in the lower level too :(

i really like the game. it brings back a lot of memories but i also had an issue with the 3d movement. it just feels kinda clunky. Like they made you characters hitbox a little to big for some areas so you just grind on the wall while walking through.

According to Pokemon Masters, Lucas(the male character) is not confirmed to have a Chimchar, but based on Dawn and Barry being in the game where Dawn has a Turtwig and Barry has a Piplup, it could be confirmed that the Canon character would be to have Lucas with Chimchar

I'm still in my journey, just caught Palkia and getting ready for the 8th gym. I prefer to create a team from before the start of each game and that's what I also did here. Infernape, Staraptor, Luxray, Roserade, Gyarad... Water Onix, Bronzong. Classic team composition. Now I'm excited to finish the game and start both the post game and in my guest account the DTQ (I normaly use the guest account for split screen co-op on the switch).

I was going to use an Infernape team with Jolteon but eevees not available till post game. Chose Piplup instead so I could pair him with Gliscor. Caught Gligar before the 2nd gym, and find out much later that the razor fang is a post game item. Are you freaking kidding me Ended up having Empoleon, Staraptor, Houndoom, Clefable, Gallade, and Mamoswine

I thought about this for a while, but I believe the reason people have such high expectations for the endgame activities is because of the second generation. Game Freak was generous in giving us Kanto ontop of Johto, but that just meant that every following game was expected to have a similarily great postgame. They kind of shot themselves in the foot. Though I'm glad they did.

Initially I just got brilliant diamond for the extra mew, manaphy and jirachi, as well as the save data to use for Legends, but I decided to play through it anyway. Ended up attempting to mostly use pokemon I'd never had on a team before in dppt. And also have like 12 pokemon on my team since having a larger team to cycle through is the only way to balance out the permanent exp share. All in all, not bad. Actually struggled in a couple battles thanks to trying to avoid trainers and being slightly under leveled, but hey, that's part of the enjoyment.

Just finished Brilliant Diamond and boy was it challenging and fun to play. I just spent the last 3 hours losing to Cynthia and only won because my Wormadon quiver dance to max and proceeded to sweep. While I definitely think Platinum is the go-to version to experience the Sinnoh Region, the updated movesets and graphics makes this a close second.

(commenting as i watch) only one correct starter? yes thats piplup o i see u must have been confused by the glare off the lake water or something, you picked turtwig by accident but thats ok the only overlap on our planned teams is chatot lol, ive got (so far) prinplup, misdreavus, houndoom, raichu, and croagunk(was going to get carnivine but i didnt consider that its a daily encounter and i dont wanna wait around for it) ah i see crobat to you is raichu to me lol, even on "ive never used these pkmn before" teams raichu still finds its way on the team oh ok scratch what i said before, i have empoleon now! (her name is pearlwort after one of two plants that can grow in antarctica!) yeah after the galactic fight in jubilife normally you get visited by someone who gives you a fashion case, but i think the dress up mechanic was removed so ball capsules could be used before the last city of the game lol oh yeah! as long as youre on the same switch, you can get multiple manaphy eggs on different profiles. i plan on getting a couple extras and having friends help me out to get the extra eggs onto my main game. i only need one manaphy, but the egg has a unique sprite... be nice to get some without needing an action replay! "hms are stinky" idk why this got me so good losing to mars is understandable! at the start i had only piplup and somehow managed to lose to roark the first time oh, the statue! ive got pearl too, the statue has dialgas upper body and front legs, but the crest over the shoulders, the tail, and lower legs are from palkia not told anyone this ever yet, but as a kid i called the statue pokemon "palkialga" YEAH i love how theyve redone the underground!!! only problem i have is the bases and how you cant really decorate them like a base, only a statue display center. and theres no flag capturing either, so i still dont get to experience that lol wait, pluck does more damage if it successfully steals a berry? is that true?? goddd i had only houndoom for this gym and it was so hard to find in the underground, that when i finally DID find one it had no fire moves and it wasnt worth resetting to find another. FORTUNATELY he knew taunt and its a lot easier to take down gardenia if she cant set up ever i dont blame you for using the mythical squad, i probably would have too but i wanna competitively train them(even if i wont ever use them for that) and its easier to not have to reduce their evs after the fact THE BIKE RACKS STILL WORK??? AND SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME KNEW ABOUT THEM????? cyrus looks hilarious in this game. ppl can say what they want about the art style but i think sometimes if something is really funny its worth it (also ive heard hes 27?? and he looks like that?? im a year younger and i have babyface even with facial hair...) i am SO stoked for contests but im also waiting until my team is better(and ive got berries for good enough poffins!) what do you MEAN you cant use honey when its raining?? isnt that route almost always raining? what a waste of a honey tree, imagine if that was one of your munchlax trees misdreavus is underground too! youre looking for a dark, purple, sparkly cave. itll have gastly too now we both have croagunk! mines named bog frog well i just got to celestic town and havent beaten fantina yet, the game will probably push me that way pretty soon calling it now that tree is either gonna have a munchlax or a combee LMAO yeah the fog is actually completely impossible to see through ok i was talking to that guy right as you mentioned him, but he gave me choice specs. think the blackglasses would have been more helpful tbh oh so fantina gets a mismagius but where is the dusk stone? i cant even do an honor battle myself?? when i get to fantina she gets a dishonor battle. she gets a houndoom sweep :( wish we could catch one of the magikarp at the exploded lake. i know we can get any magikarp but i wanted to help those ones ooohhh snowpoint looks so pretty!! ice puzzle looks way easier lol, but consider: beating the trainers for free exp (and for seen pokedex entries) its not just you, movement in smaller spaces is kinda clunky, especially on the bike rip about the wurmple hold on palkia is already out there and just chilling and u gotta spend time doing a double battle? while cyrus watches and waits patiently for you? lol palkia is simply Shaped, thats why it looks like that you joke but with how games have been going i wouldnt be shocked at all if they announced lets go johto, i cannot think of a single reasonable person that WOULDNT get hyped about that ooh pluck overrides unnerve! ill keep that in mind @ toxicroak hanging on with 1 hp multiple times in a row, thats how my houndoom was able to beat gardenia even tho he was underleveled with no fire moves lol wym your ghost doesnt have a ghost move? my misdreavus knows hex. its not GREAT, but i think confuse ray makes it stronger speaking of, guess ill try that when i fight cynthia! seeing how good shes doing against you makes me nervous since ive already struggled on some easier fights, but i also see shes about 10 levels above you this was fun!! sorry about writing a whole novel lol. obviously i havent beaten the game yet but as someone who remembers when the originals were out in japan and on their way to the us, i got just as excited and am having even more fun now than i did when i was 11/12. im definitely gonna put SO many more hours into this game!!!

Most of what I've been doing is doinking around in the Grand Underground. Seriously, I'm not even at Hearthome yet and my team is L30 from all the catching and beating up of Hideaway Pokemon I've been doing. It's great. Albeit I still haven't found the Togepi I'm looking for despite being in the right spot and having a good boost to Fairy-types appearing with the statues. So I'm down there until I've done that. I'm also trying to use things I haven't before or at least for a long time, but I did pick Piplup since my first time in Diamond I did, and also Water/Steel is a really cool typing. Oh, and I too was blessed with the luck of getting a female starter. I'm hoping that luck comes back soon in the shape of finally finding a Togepi.

Running into walls isn't just you, the controls feel a bit sloppy. They seem to have used the same grid for everything that was in the original, then allowed stick movement to ignore the grid without rounding off the corners of obstacles.
