Weirdest fact from this guide. The Italian translation, instead of getting new screens from the Italian version or just keeping the English ones, kept the English screens but blurred them to make them impossible to read so that no one could notice that. Sadly the artworks were also blurred, and the braille guide for the Regi too.
@RiftFishing
@RiftFishing 3 жыл бұрын
I had the official Nintendo Power guide rather than the Prima growing up, but I remember just being completely amazed by it. The Pokedex in the back, details on every route and I think it even had a braille translation section. It really made the world feel massive. There were a couple funny bits in it like a section saying "Use your master ball on hard to catch Pokemon" and then proceeded to show them using it on a Loudred. I'll need to see if I can find it again.

I always assumed Wally had some kind of Asthma, or something like it. It mentioned him needed to go 'where the air is clear,' and that his illness stops him from being able to 'travel too far,' so... I'm playing through Alpha Sapphire currently and that does seem like a logical explanation. Although as recently as the 1800's it was common to send anybody with bad health to the countryside to recuperate, and this seems to be an idea in Japan too as it shows up in My Neighbor Totoro. Since Hoenn is based on Kyushu, and that area is known for being more warm and tropical, maybe he was told to move somewhere with a warmer climate.
@krystallinekris
@krystallinekris 2 жыл бұрын
@@mizusenshisongs There's that, too, but they specifically mention uh... Verdanturf I think is the name of the city at the end of the tunnel by Rustboro? They specifically that city to be where they're sending Wally to 'get better, because the "air is cleaner" I think? I think they say it's because of the breeze or something. They mentioned this even when you're in that third city where your father is the gym leader, which is where *his* house technically is.

I love how these guides continue to expand you vocabulary. I've made sure to watch these in order so I dont miss new additions. Oh. And I think the part of the guide where it said the people were obessed with...something is because the game randomly generated a "popular phrase" that you can change. I assume it's randomly generated anyway, otherwise you would have seen someone say mention it. Probably.

Among people who actually care what pronunciation of a Pokémon’s name is the official one, the general consensus is that the pronunciations from “3D Pokédex Pro” are the official ones for Pokémon from Gen V and earlier. (That being said, it uses the pronunciation “dee-alga” which doesn’t fit some obvious words associated with Dialga)

A bumper crop is a farm that yields an unusually high harvest. So the guide is basically implying you'll have a boatload of berries.

You forgot to mention the special double battle that happens in the mossdeep space center, it is the first time ever for pokemon to introduce this common feature in later games where you double battle with a partner npc trainer.

Super late, but I don't think anyone else noticed, but in this game seedot that the guide suggested as an option does not naturally learn any grass type moves except synthesis which can be missed since its a pre evolution move at lv 21 and seedot evolves at 14. You would need to pick up bullet seed from an npc near the flower shop.

The term bumper crop refers to a harvest that is particularly large, larger than you expect from what you planted. Kinda weird to refer to it like that when you wouldn't even have the squirtbottle at that point in the game and your berry harvest would be really bad without that lol
