The smoke is used so people can follow the planes as they perform their routines, so the smoke system is necessary.

@@johnosbourn4312 LOL what utter poppycock! Smoke systems are only used in airshows to add a little pizazz. The problem is, nowadays smoke is way way way overdone. And these planes are simply making low passes down the runway at St. Bart's so the heavy smoke does nothing but detract from the sight of these lovely old warbirds.

Wow I can see that I am the odd man out. What a wonder to see these birds doing their thing. This is only my opinion only but if all those many people complaining about the soundtrack, I wouldn't invite you to my next barby , downers. I have watched a lot of (mostly civilian) air movements videos at St. Barths over the years .. and visually , yours is superb (though a tad disjointed in a couple of spots) .. but I fail to understand the overdub of all the blaring music , which stepped all over the sounds of some of the finest piston engines ever produced 🤷‍♂️. So , I watched it a second time with the volume off , not the same experience 🙁
