Posted on a different video. My recollection as a kid in New England: I was a kid, but I remember watching "The Monkees" for the first time on NBC TV. I believe it was their first broadcast episode so the date would have been Monday September 12, 1966. As I recall, during the broadcast, a news bulletin was scrolled across the screen reporting that one of the Beatles had been in an automobile accident and that more information would be provided when it became available. I remember hoping that whoever it was would be ok. From what I understand, the message scrolled to viewers in the western US specifically reported that it was Paul McCartney who had been involved in the accident and that he had in fact been killed. There was never any follow up on the report.

Yes. I lived in Seattle Washington and was 12 or 13. I heard on the AM transistor radio when I was alone in mt bedroom that Paul had died in a car wreck. Maybe not those exact words. But I do recall hearing it for sure. But when I was at school nobody was talking about it really. A few kids were but others who didn't know were making fun of them and calling them liars. I kept quiet as I was not only shy but I didn't want to be bullied. I only heard it on the radio one time. It was either KOL.AM or KJR.AM in Seattle. And yes there was no follow up. Although I heard some announcers on the radio later talking about the BIG rumor about a Beatle and they basically turned it into a joke about how silly rumors and how people like to spread them.

As I said previously, and as the last comment also mentioned, it’s my firm belief that JPM was taken out by the intelligence agencies (US and U.K. combined). Mark Lane quite vividly describes his encounter with Paul and how Paul became convinced that Lee Oswald was innocent as a result of reading his book. After the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK in 2013 I began researching the event. Once I did it was as if a fog lifted. Suddenly things which previously seemed far fetched suddenly not only became plausible but in many cases likely. The final straw would have been Paul offering to provide music for the film adaptation of Lane’s book. Tellingly, Lane said that once the offer was made (August 66 I believe), he heard nothing more. Remember, Jane Asher’s father was missing for a week before being found dead at the bottom of the cellar steps in the family home. It doesn’t take much to imagine a conversation between Jane and her father in which he became indignant at the thought of his daughter becoming involved in the cover story, by essentially prostituting herself..at least in his eyes. He may have threatened to go public and, with everyone involved being monitored very closely, he received a visit and had a “fatal accident”. The involvement of the security services explains absolutely everything in this case. It’s why the remaining Beatles couldn’t dare speak openly about what happened. The very fact that Billy replaced Paul is the reason he became persona non grata with John and George and ultimately why they had to split up. Brian Epstein may very well have committed suicide, but it wasn’t for the reasons given at the time and it’s quite plausible that he met the same fate as Asher’s father. This would have been a stark warning to all concerned that, like it or not, they had better be on their best behaviour. I find “Memoirs of Billy Shears” very revealing. Amongst the many things it reveals are two that really stand out. Firstly there is an entire chapter devoted to Linda, which is very telling and makes the involvement of Billy in the publication almost certain. The other are the references to the Rolling Stones, Donovan and The Who being in the know. The line “a parting on the left, is now a parting on the right, and the beards have all grown longer overnight” is a lyrical masterpiece because whilst it’s pretty obvious the whole track “Won’t Get Fooled Again” is not about Billy, the clever intertwining of “pick up my guitar and play, just like yesterday” makes the claim in “Memoirs” very credible. Given the holes in the official story of John Lennon’s death it seems he too may have been readying himself to break ranks.

Thank you. I've been sharing that same story w people and you're the only other person I've seen sharing it. Poor Paul got whacked for offering to do that soundtrack. They used the "boston brakes" method causing him to not be able to stop at the light---where they broadsided him w a truck (that's just my conjecture anyway). I do think the truth will surface and Faul will be reviled.

@@Boblobblaw88 once you begin with JFK, every controversial event becomes easy to read. The average person is completely oblivious to how the world is really run, who runs it, how they run it, and on who’s behalf. The truth is sickening. Basic rule of thumb, if the MSM really push something, it’s because they are desperate for you to believe their version of the event. Covid was a recent example, as was “Stand with Ukraine”. Even now it is impossible to seriously discuss the JFK assassination on main stream television and anyone who questions the patently impossible events of 9/11 (and 7/7 for that matter) is immediately dismissed by one simple, CIA contrived phrase. Conspiracy theory.

Interesting that Mike McCartney is so adamant about confirming the announcement! He doesn't laugh it off either. In other interviews, he's asked, "when's the last time you saw your brother?" He says, "at his funeral." Also he makes another disclosure: "I'm often referred to as the brother of former Beatle Paul. " "I need to rephrase that: "I'm the former brother of Beatle Paul." He's indicating that his brother died while a Beatle. Must be hard on him!

It seems you have to tell the world the truth even if it is never mentioned again or ridiculed. You also notice any time the remaining Beatles were asked none of them answered directly with No Paul McCartney is not dead. They always sneer or make some sort of jokes about it but never answer an honest denial. They cant.

Looking now at the footage its almost expected to hear an audience laugh when Pauls brother said "i last saw Paul at his FUNERAL" but remember that the story of Paul being dead did not even come out until a long time after, this around 1969 (when the first newspaper article ran)...so whilst we all remember friends laughing at us when we suggested the story of him being dead (friends STILL laugh) it would have been an unexpected thing for an audience to hear back in 1966 when this show ran

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was the first news agency to broadcast a news bulletin reporting the death of James Paul McCartney. The news bulletin was likely issued by 6:00 a.m. London time on Monday, September 12, 1966. Australia, in connection to its long-time and close relationship with Great Britain, likely received the same BBC news bulletin on or before 5:00 p.m., Canberra time, on Monday, September 12, 1966. Most of Australia's people were awake when they heard the BBC news broadcast about the death of James Paul McCartney.

If this was true it would be the greatest conspiracy. Of all time I remember when Paul was arrested in Tokyo the rumor went Paul finger prints were not the same ones when Paul was arrested in Hamburg Germany Paul was in prison for 7 day's in Tokyo rumor had it the British government intervene to release Paul I know people who know ex Beatle drummer Pete best who was close to Paul for 2 years Paul refuse to speak to Pete only few Paul management over the Beatles royalties Pete got in the end I bet Pete could tell us it this is Paul or faul

I don't need Pete Best to tell me it isn't the original Paul. I can see so myself. All the clues are there, staring us in the face. Those who want to see it, can see it. If you DON'T want to see it, you never will.

Since the Beatles were so popular then and influenced British culture and tourism so much, I have to wonder if the government was complicit in the coverup of Paul's death, even to the extent of pushing Billy into the band? Odd that there was no noticeable mourning by band members. Were they even allowed to attend the (apparently) very private funeral at all? After all these years one would think Billy or Ringo would finally confess of the ruse . . .

Holy TV archives, the Monkees premiered on Sept 12th 1966, episode called "The Royal Flush" according to iMDB. I imagine that the Paley Center for Media has the episode from the NY tri state area that supposedly aired this news bumper about the crash. I used to visit their Beverly Hills museum back in the 90's checking out old episodes of TV series and the commercials were in them. Appears that museum is now closed. But these recollections people are making about are partially corroborated.

I lived in New Jersey and was 8 years old. I can confirm that the Monkees did indeed begin their TV show then. It first was broadcast on a Sunday. September 11. I do not however remember the commercial breaks.

So the British Government covered it up? This would ruin the British Monarchy! Can you imagine all of England crumbling cause of a Beatle’s sudden death? If they broadcasted and confirmed Paul’s death the economy would go down drastically for the British Empire.

I wonder if the museum of television in Beverly Hills has the tape of the Monkee's premiere episode that supposedly had the news bumper about the car crash. The recording would most likely have been of the NYC broadcast, the tri-state broadcast that supposedly aired it. I used to spend hours in the museum watching old TV series episodes from the 50's and if I remember correctly they included the original commercials in them.

hello justice. This is the third time I've tried to comment on your video but the platform deleted it. haha. take a look at the episode list for the first season of the monkees series. The PID references are obviously there, and they're kind of scary. There's an entire episode talking about a member of the monkees putting his life at risk, kidnapping things like that and an episode about a circus, which reminds me of Lennon's Benefit for Mr Kite which was written in the same period as this episode was released.
