Probably could take that on more ways than one, the obvious being that It happened at all. Three talented guys who all could write well together and sounded great harmonizing. The pot that was about to boil over that was at the time modern pop/rock radio and the scene that was developing in the UK in particular. And I think probably an overlooked one, but considering the way things ended it was a miracle they even stayed together long enough to give us one record let alone the amount we got.

This observation reflects the interaction of the group that cost them their first possible record deal. The exec interviewing them didn't follow the music they were performing, couldn't categorize them because the lead vocalist kept changing, who was leading the band was fuzzy because George, Paul and John all addressed his questions instead of differing to just one person. The Beatles were unique in their talent, their interpersonal interactions and the music they created. It will be a long time until we see their match.

@paulbadoo9326, Yeah I was gonna say the same thing. John and Paul both had a truly stand alone lead singer quality. Many, many bands would have counted themselves extremely lucky to have just ONE of them! The Beatles had BOTH! Couple that with the fact that BOTH of them were also top notch extremely prolific songwriters. Not to mention George's many stellar contributions! I heard George's "Here Comes the Sun" is one of the band's most downloaded tunes, if not THE most! Although I wouldn't say George's voice had a particularly stand out "lead" quality it DID blend seamlessly with the other two adding that incredibly rich two part harmony... The song "Girl" would be one prime example of the three of them at their finest! The thing about them, aside from a few sparse leads from George, and the vocals there's not anything really standing out front from any of them. They were such a cohesieve whole. Everybody's just serving the song. Especially Ringo! A very musical drummer playing just what each song needed and nothing more. That and boatloads of charisma!! That certain unnamable magical quality...

I played in a Beatles cover band. It was an honor and pleasure to play their music. I think that the Beatles themselves are the best Beatles cover band - for sound, vocals, appearance, harmonies, everything. They sound in live performance just like their records. They were truly a once in a century (even millennium?) group. So much talent. They needed no special effects, backing tracks for the first few years. I am always amazed at their creativity. A shout out to Ringo. He is finally recognized as a great drummer. A drummer is the anchor of a band. He gave the songs a steady tempo and full sound. These guys deserve all the accolades they get - and more. For me, there are the Beatles... and there is everyone else. I am a big fan of "The American Songbook" like Rogers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, etc. They were amazing composers - music and lyrics. But they didn't sing, harmonize, produce, perform, arrange, etc. The Beatles did it ALL - to perfection. After all these years, I'm still in awe of the Beatles.

John was playing a very intricate rhythm guitar part while singing the first song. I thought that was George's part but I watched and it was John playing it.

That is some of the best and longest primetime peak Beatles live concert footage I’ve ever seen. It does not get any better than that. How on earth can you write so many fantastic songs. You’ll never see four guys fit together like that... forever.

Yes! Almost every song they wrote and recorded was at the least really good, and terrific in many cases.

"Act Naturally" is a cover but I won't disagree with your point about so many fantastic songs. The footage is amazing. It is a shame they stopped performing live.

What a great clip. So clear visually and musically. They are so real and spontaneous. The girls only scream at the end and we can act hear them. Awesome performance 👏 The dancing at the end is hysterical.

SuPERB! Is it even necessary to say that?! Great sound…these young fellows will likely go far! But seriously, this just brings JOY!! R.I.P. George & John, Carry on Ringo & Paul. Thank you ALL for every note, for coloring our lives with perfect “electronic noise!”

Since they spent a lot of time just doing studio albums, people don't know how great they were performing live. I have the live from the BBC album, so l know they were. I love that early 60's innocence.
I like how Ringo moves and crosses his arms at the very end of Help!

@@aloisiolopesdesouzasouza5378It’s a joke about Yesterday, it’s sounds like a song Ringo could’ve wrote. John has said he originally thought the lyrics were daft

Paul and John on the mic is surreal

Amazing that this crowd allowed them to actually hear themselves sing in contrast to the major rowdiness of most of their concerts. Here, you can actually appreciate their playing instead of trying to make it out over the screaming. Lol This is very cool!

I noticed that too! Great to HEAR them for once....😂

Probably because the songs were completely new for the crowd. This concert ran on August 1, 1965 as a promotion for The Beatles' new album, "Help". "Help" album launched on August 6 in UK.
