Beatrice is a city in and the county seat of Gage County, Nebraska. Beatrice is located 40 miles south of Lincoln on the Big Blue River. It is surrounded by agricultural country. Gage County was one of the 19 counties originally established by the Nebraska Territorial Legislature in 1854. At the time of its establishment, there were no settlers living within it. The settlement was named after Julia Beatrice Kinney, the 17-year-old daughter of Judge John F. Kinney, a member of the Association

I thought the town was great. I also had the chance to visit Homestead National Historic Site and found it fascinating as well!

@@WanderingWalksofWonder I went back in 2011 to memorialize my brother, before the new High School, and found it ironic that the population was approximately the same as when I left in 1980.

Very well done! I noticed NOBODY walking anywhere!🤷🏻‍♀️ It looks like the perfect walking town! No hills, a great sidewalk , clean ect.. why no walkers? Is that a safe town? Is there a Wal Mart?

as someone who lives here, let me answer those questions 1. yes, there is a walmart 2. In my opinion, the town is very safe, with no recent crime, as far as im aware of, but there are some "ghetto" spots, as with any town 3. as for why there are no walkers, its that not everything is within walking distance. Most places like grocery stores or salons are just not reasonable to walk to.
