@mosquitopa They're passive. The padding literally blocks out ambient sounds from getting into the earpiece. I personally much prefer these passive ones than the active ones that take batteries, since these have no high-pitched buzz.

@iTzkitteh They are leather'ish (don't think it is real leather). I got the white ones, and had for about six months, and still as white as I got them, I also think I have used the bag just a little!

@xxmscottxx The headphones are steeless aluminum and the only part you can get dirty is the top headband. The ear cuffs though you can wash them.

one of the best unboxing videos- after i saw this, went out a bought them and they are beautiful, solid, and excellent headphones hands down...as for the sound ...damn! bass is incredible, i know they are pricey, but you know what they say people... You get what you pay for - case closed.

But the feature where one of the holes for headphones turns into audio output would really drain your mp3 player's battery unless the other set of headphones uses batteries.

@viennalucca I was just at Best Buy and listened to the Beats Pro. All I can say is they sound quite amazing and they "fixed" everything that was quite wrong with the Beats Studios. The sound was bright and not drowned out in bass like the Studios. The Studios were too bassy and the highs were muffled. The build quality is excellent on the Pros. The only thing is the Pros are too expensive, they should be the price the Studios are the Studios should be discontinued for such a crappy product.

these are authentic guys. the cord you can tell is legit because its coil is very close to the plug. also the amount of padding on the top is sufficient. alot of fakes are skinny at the top to cut out costs for materials. also the steel isn't overly brushed. trust me. 100 percent authentic

For all of you has been recently comment this headphone is fake, you must check first the date upload of the video. The different is the "Beats Pro" letter in bottom of the box is separate in 2010, but 2011 is joined. Also the "Turn it Up" book has been available in 2011 on all of Beats products

its real, look at the cable, there is very little space between the end and windy part of it, it says that its real, and the thing between two headphones must be very comfortable, if its true your headphones are real

any noticeable sound quality difference between Pro and Studio? I hope it's somehow better than studios, not that they are bad, but for amount of money you pay for this, I'm pretty sure that they should deliver better sound quality than studio.

I'm not very up-to-date with fake/replicas, but I can tell you that this pair of headphones aren't fake. Nor it's impossible to tell if these are fake or not, because I'm sure that the Chinese knockoff's have updated the packaging of their pair of Monster Beats Pro. But I'm 99.9% sure that this pair is legit.

The pros don't have noise canceling and the studio's noise canceling sucks so bad. Best noise canceling on the market are the Bose Quietcomfort 15.

Have you guys experienced durability issues with the beats studio? I dropped it few times and it started falling apart. The screws would fall out (its hard finding replacement screws). My wire connected to the speaker and to the unit pulled out. Can you help me out with any info regarding these issues
