I don't think I could listen to this frequently but parts are pretty cool. The vocal reverb is weird though. It's like the band is playing in one room and the singer is down the hall in the lavatory. 😁

Oh ya beauty Jim! Just got the cd in the mail. Though it looks like fourth full listen will be with the Jimster.... Yeah ive noticed that kind of shredded logo on many proggy metal album covers lately.... Does anyone know who the first to use this distinctive font was?🤔 Oh and the metal meltdown gave it a perfect 5 score in his review....that is a rarity. Even his insane every'ist' side kick loved it😅😅

I also think it's amazing! I think it would be way better without the blast beats but I understand it is Death Metal and fans expect that part. Don't get me wrong though, it's so much more then Death Metal!

I’m OK with Fell Realms of Discord and the majesty of Hell and all that, but the lyrics sung in the ‘demon voice’ spoils it for me. Anyone with a lyrical take on reality, being human, will have bad days where embracing the suck is eased when there’s a soundtrack for that, too. “21st Century Schizoid Man” showed me that many moons ago. ‘Blood incantation’ summons forth, and dwells on, darkness and builds castles and armies in its service, inviting the listener to not cease seeing himself as 😊

Indecipherable logo, 20 minute track, vocals like somebody vomiting slowed to 25% speed - what can possible go wrong? I did like the mix of genres. Some power-metal style synths had crept in early on and they weren't so good but they were easily redeemed by the Tangerine Dream section and the Mellotron heralded bit that came next (sadly, probably a modern Mellotron digital impostor rather than an original). The death metal vocals were entirely appropriate and I'm heading on to side 2 before Blood Incantation can put some sort of ancient Sumerian hex on me. Oh, by the way, if you turn the logo upside down, it is easily readable as 'fluffy pink kittens'.

A sufferer, but indeed begin to see it as his ticket to being nobility in a realm that others drug themselves out of., or descend into madness. The musicianship here is all you promised, though. All the record needs is . . .to drop that powerless 30 year old virgin living in his,mother’s basement demon voice.

Hi Jim, When I see the cover art, I fear for the worst. I only can remember their name and that I listened to them before on your channel. Growling again 🤬, luckily only short. Tangerine Dream…not really. But then I got a comment it started at 13:00. Yes it sounds like a band from the Berlin school. More growling…why oh why do people like these noises. I have to quit.

Open thy mind.
@BayouMaccabee2 ай бұрын
Start out by focusing on the instrumentation & arrangements first (which is the best & most important part), tuning out/ignoring the vocals as much as you can. Then, over time, you will slowly start tolerating the harsh vocals and then eventually becoming accustomed to it to the point of acceptance. Just be patient with it in an effort to expand your musical palette. It will open up new "adventures in music".
@justsomejusstsome89942 ай бұрын
@@BayouMaccabee 100% agreed. After time you'll even realize the growls are an addition to the music. At this point, I dont want clean vocals over extreme metal music; I NEED the growls, otherwise it just does not hit as hard or feel as heavy as its supposed to.
