Hey beat the bush, the skills to change oil, replace coolant, and fill tires were really good. I know over the past year I've saved at least $100 a month from doing these things myself!
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
Totally. And it only takes a willingness to learn. Some people will say they are never touching it or they don't know how etc.
@Stockology7 жыл бұрын
Quick KZbin video like yours can teach you a lot! That's how I learned how to replace my coolant by just watching KZbin.

Another one is to buy used things on craigslist and ebay. Yes, their is an amount of risk but in the long run you save a lot of money as long as you make a wise decision. When was the last time you went to a barber?
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
I like used sometimes. Yes there is risk with the in person exchange but you can minimize this by doing the exchange in a public place. I would advise against getting furniture as that can bring in unwanted pests such as termites into your home. When I went to the barber. I never go to the barber, when I went, I went to a salon, lol. This is probably 2010? And even before that, I might have went once or so per year before 2010.

Great video as always. One comment is that I would be concerned about choosing something like a landscaper or another contractor by lowest price. In the US it is fairy easy to find sketchy contractors who use an exceedingly cheap rate so that when customers complain about their shoddy work and low-quality materials, they still have other contracts. This can be especially dangerous for things like structural work. Thanks for the video!
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
I knew someone will say something about that! lol. Yeah, choosing the cheapest might have drawbacks so you have to choose carefully and possibly find people who had their service before and check out their work.

That refi mortgage is interesting. Is there really low cost refi? Many places I talked to charges anywhere from $2k - $6k.
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
Sure. There is no cost refi actually. It really depends on the interest rate rate change landscape. It was no cost when it was going down.

@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's very important to keep yourself covered. However, the US healthcare bills are often ridiculous and inflated.
@loslosnimo0237 жыл бұрын
i think its also important to emphasize the value of your time over the amount of money one can save for a given task you impose to yourself just to save a few extra bucks. if something takes too much personal time and have a certain risk of difficulty, its also financially beneficial to just buy that service.
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Adding to this. How much is your time worth. How much can you make per hour OUTSIDE of your day job.

+dcypherd Hmmm it's 34 day free trial then bills $50 every year. I wish they just sell the whole thing to you for $50 rather than a recurring expense.
@dcypherd7 жыл бұрын
BeatTheBush yeah they used to sell it as an application as a one time thing. For what I make it paid for itself easily in the first month. Been using it about 6 months, in the first year it will probably pay for itself for the rest of my life. It has been a great tool in my planning toolbox. I know you are big on spreadsheets, just suggesting it for those of us that aren't.

Hey I noticed there's some background noise on this video, this should be very easy to fix with some audio editing software such as Audacity, may want to look into that c:
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
Wow, you notice. I fudged up in the sound with my fat finger. This is the result of trying to fix it so it already went through some editing. I'll have to make sure this doesn't happen in the future.
@KapelloMg7 жыл бұрын
ah my bad, being new to audio editing I assumed it was raw audio, I actually gave it a try myself and realized silencing the noise is quite a bit harder than I thought hahah. Hope you can figure it out, if not I still enjoyed the video plenty :) Very nice tips, and it's good to see creators handling feedback nicely.

yes I learned to wax my own eyebrows I call this a "fake expense" where I buget as if I'm paying myself else for it and physically put the money aside so I'm grantee to save and see the savings. a small pot of wax will last you years you can even split it with 3 people it will still last
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
Interesting mind trick. I think I would be broke paying myself all the time then, that is, all the money will be 'set aside' lol. I just clump it all into one and not really keep track as doing everything myself is sort of the default.

Buy a double edge razor and get packs of blades as low as $2 or even less. There's no reason to pay all that money for something your gonna use a few times and throw away.
@BeatTheBush7 жыл бұрын
I tried that one and it didn't work too well for me at least. It was about 2x slower but I do agree it's worth a try.
@hangfire50057 жыл бұрын
I had that problem at first but now I shave after a hot shower and use some proper shaving cream, the canned stuff is too dry for these razors. Your skin has an adjustment period when you change razor types too..
