Beaumaris Castle is by far my favorite castle and I have to say the work you guys have done in virtually recreating it is astounding!

Thank you for this. I was born and bred near this beautiful castle, they used to hold Carnivals the, where all the different Carnival Queens and the escorts would be at the centre of the castle. It was a truly happy occasion . Queens from all the surrounding villages from Anglesey would be in colour costumes. Why did it end. It was joyous for the children and adults to watch. Bring it back , I'm sure people would like to reminisce and have enjoyment

What kind of queens are you referring to? Ones with the XX sex chromosome and a uterus? ;)

Stunning visualisation. I used to live on Rating Row and have very fond memories of Beaumaris and the castle. Thanks for sharing.👍

An impressive castle even if unfinished. What also impressed me was the iron rings on the outside of the walls for tying up boats still in situ!

I am always pondering how these amazing castles, particularly ones that would have doubled as palaces like Beaumaris were abandoned. The scale of the place is easily missed on a screen. Thank you for doing this.

Beaumaris was never finished due to the king at the time running out of money from building several similar large castles to consolidate English power in wales
@dorianleakey3 жыл бұрын
@@jonomoth2581 I wish i had visited them in order, i saw Flint and Ruddlan after Beaumaris, Conwy and Caernarfon. I get the impression it was meant to be more palacial.

What time in history is that intended to be? Originally the sea or perhaps a canal came up to the castle and boats would sail right up the the castle to on/off load.

I'm making a project based off this castle. It's so cool! If anyone knows, what's the width of the castle?
@bujin19775 жыл бұрын
It's been 2 months since you asked this question, so you probably already have the answer. If not, depending on how accurate you need, what about using Google Maps and the distance measuring tool? For example, that tells me that the inner courtyard is about 58 metres across.

There are many castles that went unfinished. Not finishing this one is a criminal offence.
