I tried the half version of this. The block around my house is also 1 mile. Yesterday I got up at 7am and did two laps(2 miles). Then at the top of each hour, I did a loop. In between loops, same as your example, I completed as many projects on my to do list as I could. The plan was to see how many things I could accomplish while covering the distance of a half marathon. 13.1 miles. It took me 11 hours with 2 laps on the front and back end. By the end of the day, I took care of yard work, cleaned the garage, vacuumed, swept, and mopped the floors, cleaned the bathrooms, finished all the laundry, etc. I even prepped dinner so it would be ready in time. The last few miles was a bit of a grind. It was 102 degrees outside (July in Texas) so the heat made it interesting. Beau, I like your style. Thank you for the inspiration.

When you fixed and hung that picture and said, “I’ve been meaning to do that for a year; and it was a 10 minute job” (or something to that effect) that really struck a chord with me. I’ve been depressed and anxiety riddled since my husband and several pets died these past two years. I use to love to do crafts and make a variety of different wood projects; but strayed away from them since my depression took hold. This past week I’ve done several small projects (looking for ideas on KZbin) and it’s probably the reason this was in my recommended feed. Getting done even a small project has already helped my depression. I have a lot of physical medical problems, so I can’t run as far as you did; however, you’ve inspired me to do my own version of this. *THANK YOU* for inspiring me and *congrats* on everything you accomplished!!

Turns out, nope, that was it. course complete. If it's something i'm interested in, i'll get stuck in and do it the second i'm aware of it, then move onto the next thing. The downside is, unless i'm working with someone equally driven/focused, I usually piss coworkers off. As I don't stop until it's complete. So it comes with pros and cons... IMHO, this personality type (of 100% focus 100% of the time) usually ends up being solo work, there's just no room for other people.

I've watched one documentary of Beau's everyday for the past 4 days and he seems to be such a pure human. Not a superhuman, but a raw, human, human. He builds things, maintains things, connects easily and wholesomely with others, creates grand dreams and makes them a reality; not only through his execution but the filming and sharing of them with the world, for free. One thing about his endurance feats, that is truly inspiring, his how he finds a way to endure, seemingly, intense suffering and discomfort with grace and often gratitude. He seems to have an unshakable determination and an indomitable mind and will that makes his adventures so compelling. It echos the core of the human spirit: chasing horizons, pushing personal limits, returning home with an epic story to tell and a perspective transformed, and most importantly not taking oneself so seriously that you can't enjoy a beer on the side of the road, (edit) and second most importantly whether your on an African beach or sleeping in your gum tree, there's never a reason to not brush your teeth. Cheers Beau, thanks for sharing all this with us

I don’t think anyone can ever legitimately use the excuse “I’m too busy” ever again....except for maybe this guy.
@bananaboy84165 жыл бұрын
EarlyBirdNerd that’s a foolish thing to say. It’s actually the opposite. This man has no obligations and is free to do as he pleases for a full day. People who say they are too busy likely are obligated to do their tasks such as school or work which take up a large portion of a persons day.
@agamersjournal5 жыл бұрын
BananaBoy Banana Well this was an experiment so of course this isn’t a real situation. My point is that we usually use the excuse “I’m too busy” when we have maybe one thing that’s asked of us. Instead of making an excuse we could try to maximize the time in our day to make it actually happen. If this guy can build furniture, sew clothes, plant 24 trees, spend time with his wife, make bread and soup from scratch, and fix things around the house, I don’t think I can take 15 spare minutes to clean my bathroom. Productivity with no excuses!!!

Basically if we took every opportunity to get things done, we’d probably have more free time in general.

@@agamersjournal I do know how much I get done in a day and I have put in as much effort as he did on many occasions. People who say "I'm too busy" are probably doing exactly that. I don't know where you got the idea that most people are lazy, but be assured, people actually work very hard.
