It always touches me when I see clothes still hanging in the closet. It’s a sad eerie feeling of now the owner is gone. A lifetime of paperwork and treasured magazines. It appears the house was just left and ransacked by whomever. Someone lived there and loved the house. Now it’s just scattered memories 😢

I was impressed with the wall phone at the sink. Someone spent lots of time in the kitchen and needed access to a phone with a long cord. Color tells me it was about 1960s or 1970s. The long cord made it possible to move around the kitchen from sink to stove to refrigerator, using both hands and holding the receiver with a shoulder. Nice house, Kappy.

Great find. Looks like it could be restored to be a beautiful home. I bought a mountain farmhouse last year and renovated it. The cosmetics looks ruff but the structure is solid. Plus it was a foreclosure so the bank had just replaced the roof, doors, windows and siding but the inside was a mess. But I paid less then a cheap new car would cost. Love old homes. Nice old house. I like how you always notice details like crown moldings and old doorknobs. This house had some pretty wallpaper too especially the pink and white flowered one in the bathroom. Some of the glass in the windows may have been original because when you filmed through one of the windows you could tell the glass was wavy. That was also a cool shot at the end showing the arch over the driveway with one letter “B” still left on it.

Despite what it might look like from the outside, it still looks pretty structurally sound and in tact from the inside, leaving me open to the possibility that this house might have been abandoned as recently as the early 2000's only. Either way, I still see it as being fixable and worthy of a renovation. And now that I have that thought in mind, how nice would it be if there was an actual TV show that made it their business to search for abandoned houses that were falling a part and repaired and restored them back to their original glory? I would totally watch that.

In the center of the front door I think we're seeing an old-fashioned doorbell. If my memory about them is right, a visitor on the front porch would move a little handle back and forth on the round metal apparatus which cause the bell inside it to ring.

Cool explore. I think it's more likely early 1900s then early 1800s. It looks to me like it was built with electrical and plumbing pre-installed. I just don't see any evidence of electrical or plumbing being added later. But they didn't have any heating system, so they must have relied on the fireplaces, and maybe space heaters for heat.

The cubby hole with shelves behind washer and dryer is a pantry where you can put cans of food and pot and pans, etc. what I could do with that house and land. Awesome....around 6:15-6:18 it sounds like someone else is whispering low into the speaker.it looks like they tried adding a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. I love how the fireplace goes up through the center of that room. 7:05 something is sniffing into the speaker. Omg that bed at 7:47. Why why why do people leave places like these to just rot. 2:12 shows a bachelor's dream: a laundry room with a _couch!_ I, for one, could fall asleep while a machine was running, wake up when it quit. Take the load out of the washer, fluff it, and stuff it in the dryer---with a dryer sheet, of course---then settle down to continue my nap. (The washers in our laundry room take 30 minutes, the dryers 45 (I use a digital kitchen timer, go back to my apartment until the loads [1 white, 1 colors] are done, then comes the really fun part: folding.) Nice big, fairly bright bedrooms, but I didn't see a dining room near the _still-equipped_ kitchen, though maybe one of those big, messy rooms had lost its table and chairs... Gee, Kappy, you seem to have graduated from vultures in the attics to wasps or hornets at the windows! What next? Stay safe, everyone.

Looks like a caretaker likely for the older woman who lived there had that addition part upstairs with kitchen privileges via servants staircase incorporated into add on. . There was a separate lock on door upstairs above door handle u admired. The old clothes make sense as an older lately likely owned it and passed. They were in master bedroom. The younger yet way past date clothes in the separate section don’t unless they both passed in an accident. Both sets of clothes were left. Great video!
