Panda Video - Clarification - What Happened To The Pit Bull? The video is edited. Panda's rescue took 3 nights. The pit bull was only there on the first night. He was not there on the night Panda was rescued. In the days after Panda's rescue, we returned to the area hoping to find him. We never did. He wasn't found dead in the street either. That is why we hope/assume that he lived in the neighborhood and returned home. Otherwise, we're sure we would've found him again. We do not discriminate against pit bulls, as seen in our other videos.

My German Shepherd, Taz, was dumped and waited by a tree on a very busy road for 3 weeks. I fed him, brought water and prayed no one would hit him. Finally, one day he looked at me and I opened my truck door; he jumped in and was with me for 12 years. The person who dumped him did not deserve his loyalty.

My old girl was abandoned on a country road when she was a bit less than a year old. The animal control officer said that she was just sitting there when he found her, like she was waiting for them to come back for her. Their (deserved) loss. She was with me for 13 years before passing away and she was so well behaved and such a sweetheart, everyone loved her.

I got a Norwegian elkhound, 6 years old from the pound. The previous owners had abused her so badly, it took me 2 years to be able to reach out and pet her without her freaking out. She lived to be 16 and was the best dog I ever had. Miss her still! She helped me raise my kids, saved us twice from disaster, and had a sense of humor I have never seen in a dog. I was blessed to have had her in my life.

I found my Brandy, a pit-mix, dumped in a Bronx parking lot during an icy Jan. She wouldn't come to me because she was running along the lot looking for her people. Finally she realized that I was her last chance and jumped into my warm car. Turned out she was pregnant and gave birth to 7 puppies in my house. I found good homes for 6 and kept 1 girl. They were my joy for 13+ yrs. I miss them still.

I have two rescues and both have their challenges. I would never abandon either of them. It is a life long commitment when taking in an animal to share your home. They should be family not some thing to be used, tired of and then abandoned. Great job, both of you!

Gave me goosebumps thinking about how my rescued red heeler used to wait at my front gates refusing to move for the first few weeks after I adopted her. She was abandoned and I know she was waiting for her owner to come and get her. It broke my heart.

Why people just abandoned there animals is beyond me, especially with all the resources that we have today. To abandoned an animal is just plain cruel and inhumane! We had a neighbor dump their Chihuahua mix in a rural area. He was a lovely dog that knew tricks. My mom was sick. She'd have taken him if she'd known. These neighbors were terrible dog owners. They kept their greyhound in a small pen where she hopped up and down and had nowhere to run. I don't understand people. But they thought of themselves as dog people. 😲

My cat was left behind by someone who moved out. She wandered around the complex scared and hungry but wouldn’t come to me. A lady downstairs was feeding her and I finally got to meet her. I fed her and let her walk in my door. She checked it out and must have found it agreeable because that was 9 months ago.

You may not know the whole story. I got two of my cats in a similar way. One walked up to me one day and followed me up the stairs and simply decided to live with me and my other cat, felt right at home. She may have recognised me (because I had seen her in a neighbour's window once, but I initially couldn't be sure it was the same cat). I left lots of notes and started making calls and eventually ended up talking with a guy who said that her owner had gone to a home, basically "to die" and he defensively added "I am not going to bother her now and upset her over the cat!" and I reassured him. Turns out other neighbours had agreed to adopt the cat and then dumped her on the street. Turned out she had bladder problems; peed all over the place and on my bed too one day. I took her to the vet. The other one... I was told that the cat might have escaped during a move or that the older owner who moved away had forgotten he had a cat or something. She was quite wild at first (hissing, and sometimes purring at the same time) and her coat was a mess.

I was too naive and dumb at the time to figure out that the owners had moved out and left the cat. Naturally she started fights with my cats; they were in her territory. And naturally they fought back; they thought it was their territory. I wish I had had the sense to take her in and keep her. That was many years ago, and I don't remember what happened after that.

I love seeing a rescuer that works like this.Sitting down,not staring at the dog,giving food is building trust.When Panda laid down rolled onto her back and looked at him,I melted.Its her way of saying I like you,top it off with her "woo woo" at him tail wagging...*sighs* this is why we all do this work. We don't get paid,we 're out there at night,in the cold,heat,rain bc they are.Someone broke their trust ,love,loyalty& abandoned them.

Dogs are so loyal and if loved they will never leave your side. I have a best friend and she will always be loved and cared for. When you bring a dog or cat to be part of the family, you are making a lifelong commitment. You don't abandon your family member when things get difficult. They rely on you and you don't let them down and if you don't trust your ability to fully commit, then it's best not to take the chance. Can you imagine the fear and loneliness they feel left out in the cold and what's worse is that it's in the middle of nowhere. Only owners do this, they were never parents and the poor pets were just seen as property (not family members), and nothing more.

Before I adopted my dog I called four family members and asked if anything happened to me or if it just didn’t work out would they take care of the dog. I hope I never need them, but contingency plans for my boy are well in place.

This pisses me off so much!🤬How can anyone abandon their dog!? They just don’t want them anymore. They get older. There no longer “cute.” You never frikkin’ loved your dog to begin with because if you did none of these stupid thoughts or reasons would exist. People should be officially approved to have a dog or any pet because unfortunately sometimes having a “family” can be worse than not.
