Happy anniversary to Doug and Amy! Also I lived in Alaska for 5 years. I loved it, it was great…however winter is COLD COLD and very dark. Im from Montana so I know about cold and dark but Alaska is on another level in all aspects good and bad.

I've lived in Alaska for 32 years, it's not that bad. Actually it's much colder in the northeast, New England and Minnesota than up here. We have zero humidity in the winter so the cold isn't that bone chilling wet cold. Ok, it is cold and dark but I don't mind the dark, and yes we are all a bit loony up here, wearing shorts and flippity flops in 10 degree weather is a regular thing. Happy Anniversary Dougo and Amy and congratulations on the successful hunt to the big Swede. Fun Alaska story.... I walked out of my house, which is kind of rural, and I was looking down at my phone answering a text and walked right into a cow moose. Needless to say, she startled me and I startled her, she took off running. Lucky me, she didn't take umbrage to me bumping into her and stomp me into the ground. Moose can be kinda testy sometimes and they will stomp the sheeyit out of a fella if they have a mind to. Lesson relearned stay aware of your surroundings. Good thing God protects fools... lol.
