@novelynette Not so much. First, make sure your original gum paste is really thin, and give a nice firm push on the embossing button. When I pull with the tool, I kind of start right where that embossing is to make sure I don't "rub" it out. It's kind of my guide line. :) Even if some gets rubbed out, there is so much detail in the frill of the ends of the petals, that whatever is left still gives a lovely appearance.

@paperlace24 I do use mine a lot. I have someone locally that trained one of her staff completely from my videos; never had to send her in for a class! This Gerbera was one of her specialties!!!

@crazy4crafts It is not food safe. A couple of things can go wrong- they can rust from the moisture, even if it is the smallest piece that is exposed through tape or coating. That would be poisonous. Also, a tip can break off. You don't want to be the person that has a guest swallow a small piece of wire. Beyond the hazards, it can stain your cake, or tear through it from the weight of the gumpaste. Many ways to get around it. Straws filed with royal icing or white chocolate works well also. :)

I've tried this and they turned out really nice. Those plunger cutters are a Godsend. I have regular daisy cutters and the paste always got stuck and tore. I like being able to get the paste loose with the plunger. Please have more tutorials for flowers.

Hi! Thanks for your tutorials, but I have, maybe you already know, 1 small tip. To avoid the little strands of gumpaste that stick to the peddels of the flower, I always make the cut out, and turn the cutter up side down. Then, with the ball of my hand, I smooth out the lines of the cutter (just 2 times) and turn it back on my flowerpad and make the press for the finishing touch, and then you don't have the little gumpaste strands ;-) Greetings from the Netherlands, Tamara

Gum paste is "tighter". You can roll it thinner for more realism, it has more elasticity, so you can stretch it more without it breaking (rolling thinner and draping), and it dries harder. Gum paste is a "cousin" to fondant.

i tried it with fondant - it worked !

If you put it on a wire, I wouldn't- that's just scary. If it is an unwired flower, yes, you can eat it. It won't taste GREAT, but you can eat it. Kind of the texture of a stale piece of chewing gum. Mostly for looks!
@HowOhh12 жыл бұрын
I think your sponge is too soft,if u use another one ,may be it's more easy for u to do this flower
