It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book kzbin.infoUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

It has massive storage space but for the size it feels full and clustered. The raised floor in the kitchen seems useless to me, very impractical. Do like the outside look of the house.

If you were building it for a remote location ALL of that space would be needed for water, batteries, controllers, waste water. Right now its set up to connect to municipal services for all of that. But it was designed to enable being offgrid later.

Unfortunately, seeing doesn't automatically lead to understanding. The overall problem is our society has indoctrinated many misconceptions into the way people view and think about things. Resulting in a loss of empathy, understanding of diversity, and general lack of understanding of things like financial literacy... fortune.com/2016/07/12/financial-literacy/ www.chcp.edu/blog/loss-empathy-society-today www.jamesgmartin.center/2017/03/college-graduates-still-cant-think/

WOW ... Love the layout, the levels, the design, the wood finishes, the colour palette, the amazing clerestory windows and garage door, the open live edge shelving set against the triple windows, the flooring choice, fireplace , choice of tap ware, leather handles, back staircase idea and so on ad nauseum. This place blew me away. Oh how far the Tiny House Movement has come. The option for an off grid solar/battery array and water tank storage under the kitchen gives great flexibility too. I have seen hundreds of THs and this example is superlative. Well done ... such a beautiful, sleek and contemporary design.

@Stella-ro8oz
@Stella-ro8oz 5 жыл бұрын
Mario Mueller that’s actually not why I fell for it at all. I think the design elements are perfect. It has a lot more open of a plan then most tiny houses and I like that open feel. I also love the idea of the garage door that opens because it will make the house feel a lot bigger and even when it’s closed you can feel like you’re in the middle of nature even while you’re inside. I thought that each nook and cranny and stair had room for storage and yet the house didn’t feel cramped. Almost every other tiny house looks so cramped. This one is perfect because I have claustrophobia and while I love the idea of a tiny house, I know it wouldn’t normally feel practical for me but this one feels open, airy and light. Also, you want to know the one other thing I’ve always said that a tiny house would need if I bought it? Even if it would take up a lot of space? A bathtub. Just like the one in this video. I would get rid of a few things if it meant that I could have a bathtub like that one and an open sitting room with gigantic windows. I think this one is perfect. I really wasn’t joking when I said I watch a TON of tiny house videos and look at floor plans and such. The only two things I would change. 1. I would raise the ceiling in the bed loft because the ceilings are always too low in those and I would feel cramped and 2. I would add on a deck that would extend beyond the sitting room and would create a seamless indoor and outdoor transition. I guess we all have different reasons for wanting a tiny house but this one is the first one that I actually legitimately thought that I could realistically live in, knowing myself. But like I said, to each their own I guess 🙂

I like the layout in general but instead of the cabinets at the entrance I would use that space for a table or couch. Those feel to claustrophobic. The rest is awesome, that loft is genious. I love when the stairs to the loft are behind the bathroon, that feels more open inside.

@GarThow Son of Odin - There are tiny houses designed for larger families but it depends on the family and how comfortable they are sharing spaces... An example of a family of 9 living in around 450 Sq Ft can be found on the Kreke Family youtube channel... kzbin.infovideos And there have been up to 16 people living in tiny homes, to get an idea of the actual upper limit. Though, definitely not for everyone... But you can do things like instead of a loft you could do stacked bunk beds that can provide three levels of sleeping space and people have done 2 bathrooms in these as well and a little more is possible if you don't need an open floor plan and can compartmentalize it more.... Like these two examples of three bedroom Tiny homes... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqCUhJ2uZ9qnsMU kzbin.info/www/bejne/sF7QloRjbLytZqc Mind, they can go bigger than this as well, especially, if you don't need to move it once placed... While those on foundations don't really have a size limit and a small house for a big family is still tiny living because the space is shared and isn't all given to any one person... Though, people have also just gotten multiple tiny homes that they can combine to form a larger home for families as well, and can repurpose or sell off the extra units when their needs change... So lots of different ways to make it work...

While so many folks can’t see beyond what their own color choices, I really think you did a great design here and it can lend to many different customizations. I tend to be more traditional and this still really appeals to me... Great job!

Yes Fred Stahl I agree with everything you wrote 👍after a while most of them all look the same. I usually don't comment, but I don't care for all that negativit people are posting. It's ok to be constructive, but perhaps that's what the client wanted also watching a video is not the same as when you see the tiny house in person. You may pick a design from this tiny house and another from another tiny house and so on and create what you want. I also appreciate the quality of the video, clear and not shaky 😊 I'm in NYC so I'm happy you guys are not far for when my husband and I are ready... Can't wait! I wish you guys the best 🙏

I like the modern color combo. Because the dark portions are charcoal grey-black, it lends to the home owner just about any pops of color accents. I especially like that the stairs don't go high and steep. Allowing standing room in the bedroom and safer to walk up and down. This home is sturdy. Also, it's well thought out to put steps having access to the bathroom, so if one has to use it during the night, there's no major issue to navigate.

@petnzme01 You have a point! I lived in a traditional home, 2400 sf, with 5 boys and had the same problem because the "powder room" was near the front door and only steps away from the open concept family room/kitchen. Wish I'd known about Poo Pourri then! (no more smellies, mist bowl water beforehand). One can also make a spray with essential oils, and would solve this issue.

After watching a lot of KZbin videos over the years I’ve come to realize most people’s complaints are based on what they personally want and like. If it isn’t exactly what they would pick out for their needs and where they live or to their style the product is wrong and bad And should not exist. Not that people aren’t entitled to their opinions, I Just hope more people could see things beyond their own perspective.

This would seem to be a discussion forum. Rudeness of course, is a waste of time and I doubt many pay attention to it. However, some might be thinking of tweaking designs to fit them. So I really don't see a great use for posting "WOW! Beautiful!" or suggesting that others who don't say rainbows and unicorns are in any way degrading the beauty of this home or its fitting the desires/aesthetics and needs of the owner. Stating the obvious, as many like you do, is what I find very tedious.

Beautiful craftsmanship! While i enjoy the originality of the floor plan, i'm not a fan of how "compartmentalized" the space is (personal preference). I'd feel way too confined. I prefer simple, open floor plans. Hats off to the builders level of detail, fit and finish!

Wow, a lot of hate in the comments for this tiny home. It sounds like most of what he was doing was due to the specifications of the client. I think it's mostly beautiful... Although the black cabinetry does nothing for me. I will say, though, I was really frustrated by him not pulling out more of the drawers and opening more of the cabinets or closet.

@Sleeping Beauty - punkpine is correct, this is a custom build they're making for their client. So it's to their client's specifications... They're just showing it off as a demonstration of their work, which is why there's no listing for its sale and just a link to the builder's website...

Omg. I am in love with this house!!! I like the idea of the big door of the designated living room. (My preference would be French doors with a fanthom screens to the big outdoor deck). I would prob go with radiant heating with a fake fireplace in the living room. Then could put the dining room in the vestibule by the front door. Love the roll out island and hidden laundry. I like the stairs at the back and not taking up space the living space. I always wondered if in the loft there could be a lower walk around the bed then closets on either side. There are small things I would change for my preferences (colours, fittings , countertop) but I like the overall layout.

Ruth Ann Flour OMG ... fake flame radiant heating (!) ... your preference speaks volumes about your total lack of taste. Yuk. The layout is fantastic and the Danish metal fireplace is a stand out ... imagine the cosy ambience with a log flame flickering at night and the smell of woodsmoke. Your 'rearrangement' sounds cluttering and I hate to imagine what your colour scheme and accessorizing would be like if your preference is for fake flame 'fireplaces'. The black, neutrals and wood finishes are spot on.

Yes Liz. To each their own. I love this design. Don’t hate any of it. So many fantastic features. Just would make small adjustments for my taste. I did not say fake radiant flame heating. I would heat with radiant floor heating. I am glad you really like this home as is but would hope that you too would make it “your home” with personal touches. Instead of negative comments about others likes/dislikes why not dare to dream of how you would make this your home if you had the chance. Have a great day.

I'm trying to really, "get it". I'm having a hard time seeing the difference of a tiny home versus a fifth wheel or RV. Aesthetics? Is that it?
@adventurewithspike5638
@adventurewithspike5638 4 жыл бұрын
I feel it’s the aspect of it looking/feeling like an actual home just smaller. RV’s and trailers all tend to feel/look the same where as a tiny house it feels more of an actual home and not just a trailer. I totally get what you mean tho. My brother thought it was a stupid concept as you can just buy a trailer/RV for cheaper. I’ve had my share of living for 8 months in a tiny pop up trailer and it did not feel like a home. It definitely has a big aesthetic purpose for sure. While I wasn’t living for trailer life, I’d love to have a tiny house for the fact it’s still a home, just smaller and more unique 😊

@@adventurewithspike5638 Plus, I think a tiny home is supposed to be lived in, whereas a fifth wheel has even more economies of space because it's assumed you're only camping in it, maybe for a few days or weeks at a time. What is comfortable for 7 days is not necessarily comfortable for 7 years.

They're a custom builder and this isn't being listed for sale. Only a link to the builder's website... So it's a tour of someone else's home just to show an example of their work. Meaning, everything is customizable and they're really marketing their services and not this particular home. So all details are really up to the client and what they want...

Video is hard to hear. At least for me. And for all who r complaining and don't like it, thus was made according to what the client asked for and not necessarily what they would choose, or know to be the most durable materials. I love it. I have a few dogs including a medical service dog, so steps into the loft are absolutely necessary.

@helentaylor7132

Yeah, that would be a neat trick to get that "giant seamless glass window" to roll up into the ceiling when you wanted to open the garage door. Also, wouldn't travel well. Also, probably not even possible. I could say SO much more about that remark, but 'nuff said.
@lizsteeds6697

Freedom Strider Duh ... the point of the garage door was to OPEN the whole front onto a deck for beautiful indoor/outdoor flow and dine outside if desired. A solid pane defeats the purpose. You also (obviously) don't like the industrial vibe the black metal framing engenders. I happen to love it ... and so must the homeowners. It is a wonderful architectural feature. Can't account for some peoples taste I guess ...

@ZeoCyberG
@ZeoCyberG 5 жыл бұрын
@Helen Taylor - There's actually single piece garage doors that open up as a single panel. Along with other options, like making the wall section open up like a door or lift up and become an awning, but such a large glass window would be extremely expensive... Cost aside, there is going to be a fold down deck added later. So it will be covered and protected while traveling...
