Oh my gosh, this took FOREVER to make. Nonetheless, it was fun, and I'm looking forward to making more in the future. I've recently fallen in love with Heathers and I just kinda wanted to make animatics out of their songs? I mean, it's so fun and it's perfect practice! I know this animatic's messy and rough and so inconsistent but this is my first finished animatic -- I was testing out the waters, trying to adjust it for my comfort, and learning new things along the way, so please bear with me. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed!

Also, there are parts where you see there's light reflected off of their eyes and I know actual light refraction(?) doesn't work like that but the light in their eyes actually mean... just that. There's light in their eyes, like when Veronica sees hope the light thing appears in her eyes. lol.
Edit: So since nobody noticed these characters I'm gonna point out that Pearl and Bubbline are also there but they're modernized, human, and drawn in my style. XD Good day!!

Okay, I'm head over heels for this?? This animatic is the first I've seen where the Heathers actually reacted to the-- "I'd like to kidnap a Heather and photograph her naked in an abandoned warehouse and leave her tied up for the rats." -- line. And it shows Veronica in a bathroom stall when Flemming jumped in and not just walking by, which makes it more believable that they were 'all out on a hall pass'. Another detail that I love is that when Martha, pushing through the crowd, calls out to Veronica, Chandler does too. "Veronica?" Is a plea, a question, Martha's partner in crime is standing in the spotlight and she's left among the faceless. "Veronica!" Is a command, it's Heather summoning her new play thing. Last, but not least, is when Veroncia has her big moment, standing beside the Heathers, towering the others, Martha is staring blankly up at her. Sort of a "There she goes." look While J.D glares up at her as if to say: "Oh joy, the demons brought another one down." Needless to say, haven't seen anything like it before. *Hat tip*

She's generally talking about the Socioeconomic structure. In High School it's always who ever can be the biggest or best at something, or have the littlest personality so everybody can relate. In college you're judged based on Merit from what I know, Yeah jocks still exist and are still sometimes dicks, but they're actually worth a shit now since they proved they're good enough. From what I know of Veronica she isn't the kind of person to get bogged down over a heavy workload, she seems like she'd be invigorated by it even. The reason High School was such a problem was she wasn't "popular"

Then again, nobody does any work in this school.

This has to be my favorite animatic of all time. The art style is... shall I say... BEAUTIFUL, the animation is so clean I'm screaming, there is SO MUCH attention to detail and yet you still manage to put your own spin on it. I love the ending with Kurt and Ram picking Veronica up, 1 bc it's kinda cute, 2 it represents how everybody just accepts Veronica bc the Heathers said so. All the characters have their own faces and expression patterns. I'd PAY to see the whole musical in this lmao. The transitions ad so much dramatic effect and the voices match the characters extremely well. Also I love the continuity with Marhya, in a lot of other animatic shes pretty much ignored but she's an important character, and you highlighted her so well. This whole thing gave me chills. I have no idea why, but when Veronica made her big entrance with the Heathers, I felt tension leave my shoulders and I started crying. That's the first time this song has made me have that perspective on it. Veronica was so imperfect, but in joining the Heathers, she escaped all of the hell she was being put through at school before. I think the art had a lot of input on that, so props to you omg. Okay, so I'm confused?? How does this animatic not like like a million views or more??? Beautiful is such an engaging song and really gives the audience an idea of what to expect in terms of setting and characters, but we all know it hardly covers the dumpster fire that happens later on! It's also a pretty lengthy song so I imagine it takes even more time to work on this compared to a 3-4 minute song. The effort though--- it really shows and your storytelling can truly keep a viewer interested in the content. Your art style is really gorgeous! I normally am weeb trash and do not always like a more realistic approach, but it just fits so well here. It's definitely your take that keeps me in awe. I just love how each character has their own unique look from facial structure to height, and so much more. Mcnamara gives off a softer vibe that really fits her. It's hard to describe, but it's just great. I love how Duke looks very much Asian, and I love that as an Asian gal myself who likes some representation sometimes. Even if Duke isn't seen in the best light in the musical. Also Chandler just brings out my inner gay where she just looks so striking and stands out as this fierce queen of the school. Maybe it's the fact her eyes are lighter that really stands out to me. Veronica's characterization is just so good too, and she just rocks any outfit really. Also V being taller than the Heathers makes it really amusing - especially since she towers over Chandler; the queen bee. Martha also looks like how I envision Martha and what a sweetheart and love-struck gal she is! I really just applaud your work and the effort put into this 8 minute song, haha. I love how background characters may seem like they're just fleeting, but they feel real and impactful too. Especially when the characters start singing about their struggles before the Heathers become the distraction they believe they need. Just the song itself really opens up to a lot of things; such as the social hierarchy embedded so deeply into the school. The details overall just really show much more than just a girl eagerly joining the Heathers just to rise above harassment. I'm sorry, I actually suck at writing comments for art pieces compared to writing ones so I probably repeated myself a bunch and said weird stuff. Really, though. I'm surprised this doesn't have more recognition. I've seen a lot of beautiful Heathers animatics and yours is one of them. Truly amazing work.

I literally cannot look away from the little white light in V's eyes that appears and disappears. Also the varying levels and modes of distress on so many characters' faces especially in the "Whyyyy,,," scenes is very interesting to see because you have such an amazing range!! I just think it's really neat that you can draw such a variety of nuanced, believable expressions. Human faces! They are real? Also I love the movement of the 'camera' at the very beginning that travels back all the way to V through the hallway full of students.

I've been watching Heathers animatics from the initial uploads all the way back in March and April to now, and this animatic, is hands down, the single BEST one I have seen so far! This is up there with Galactibun, Elemental FA, and MissyAsylum. In fact, it might actually SURPASS them! Incredible work.
