You have no idea how much these train videos have been a boon to my anxiety and been helping to keep me calm during lockdown and beyond. Thank you for sharing these amazing voyages with the world. I one day hope to visit Switzerland for the first time, and a train voyage like this one is definitely on my bucket list. Cheers and good wishes from Canada.

What a wonderful atmospheric video! It's so interesting to see a route I have never travelled on - and probably never will. Many small villages all connected together by the railway. Brilliant!

The mist adds this dreamy, sleepy feel to the vivid green countryside bathed in the morning sunlight. Makes it more interesting to watch, that's for sure, - for me anyway. I enjoyed the trip very much, thanks. :)

Thank you for anther great trip, I'm finding the Swiss railway system quite fascinating. At 43:57 I noticed a steam locomotive, less tender, at a place called "locorama", is that a museum of some kind?

Once again you have demonstrated your mastery of light levels - I'll be commenting on your recent Bözberg video shortly - thanks for sharing your art with us! 3 thoughts arise: firstly it always amuses me that Stadler's main works in Bussnang, where one presumes all the heavy engineering happens, is relatively anonymous by comparison to the commissioning facility in Erlen - given the daytime passenger service, they must surely ship the finished vehicles overnight, right? Secondly, on a couple of occasions, we see signals go from red to a less restrictive aspect and the newly struck lamps seem to come on in 2 steps - is that the work of a lamp proving circuit or just a way to not blow the lamp? Thirdly, as we reach Romanshorn, we appear to pass some kind of railway heritage centre - if so, who is the organisation? Thanks again \m/
@RailwayEmotions3 жыл бұрын
Stadler sometimes also uses the tracks for brake tests during the night. I don't know when the new stock is exactly shipped, there are surely slots available during daytime aswell. If you see a signal "slowly" switching to a new aspect, it is the relays that switch and interlock, lighting up and turning off the corresponding lights during that time. The railway is extremely secure, and those relays are a crucial part of it. What you saw in Romanshorn is the Locorama.

Nice video! Is there an in-cab signal for the "stop by request" stations? It looked like there were flashing lights on the platform for some.
@RailwayEmotions Жыл бұрын
What you saw flashing is the stop on request, there is no in-cab signalling.

A dirty windscreen is always a slight distraction but I guess the driver cannot control that. Or can he? Otherwise, again a perfect video.
@librarian163 жыл бұрын
One bit of dirt at the left hand side looked very much like the reflection of a speedometer. :-)
@RailwayEmotions3 жыл бұрын
There are cleaning kits on major stations, but it's not a distraction at all. The camera is much closer to the windscreen than our eyes, it looks worse than it is.
@time29853 жыл бұрын
@@RailwayEmotions I am glad if the dirt on the windscreen does not distract the driver but what I actually meant was that those noticeable spots on the view field are fairly distracting to the video viewer.

More and more frequently there are now buttons in trains and on platforms to signal you want to get on or off at a particular station.
@wernerf.87673 жыл бұрын
In the train you push a botton if you wish to exit, on the platform you push a botton if you wish a ride, which is shown to the driver by two flashing white lighs (see at 8:10)...
@martafontana47923 жыл бұрын
@@wernerf.8767 I hadn't noticed the light signal at 8:10 😳

I do not criticize the driving of the train on the contrary the driver's vision is very interesting and amazing My problem is that I see 1/10 of those who see 10/10 and I have difficulty in seeing the writings and distances so for me it is difficult to get off "on the fly"
