Beautiful Private Model Railroad HO Scale Train Layout at The Corona Model Railroad Society.
The Corona Model Railroad Society was created to represent 1940's Corona in the heyday of its citrus production. But not only its agriculture. The lumber, mining, manufacturing and all the trackside industries engaged in trade from other communities to other countries. This is the story of how Corona became what it is today, and the railroad's major role during the past.
An entire house, which sets on the park property, is devoted to the 600 sq. ft. display. The model railroad is fully operational depicting a Corona and Southern California circa 1949 when Corona was "The Lemon Capital of the World" and America's railroads were in transition from steam to diesel. The model railroad features the Santa Fe Third District with the cities of Corona, Fullerton, and Riverside modeled.

Now this is a treat! The hobbyist has managed to find a majority of autos that look to be from 1930-1940. A nice touch.

I always enjoy the little puns and jokes on a layout. Buser's Premium Pork Byproducts in itself was great, but to have cow as the icon - ice cold! The is the first time I've seen a "Greenfruit" on a layout - all reefers. In their day, they had the right-of-way over everything except the streamliners, and sometimes even over them. They ran as fast as they could to get that produce to market. AND, weathered cars. (I remember my grandfather, a UP engineer, being so happy in the summer when he'd be called for a greenfruit because it meant he could be out and back over the 100-mile subdivision in as little as eight hours.

Reminds me of the train shows I used to go when I was little. My grandpa would take me and my brother there, and I guess it got me to love trains nowadays. R.I.P Gramps, miss you everyday.

Great video & a great HO scale model railroad layout of the Santa Fe during the 1950’s. The cars & trucks on the highways & streets on the layout range from the late 1930’s up to about the mid 1950’s just when the interstate highways were beginning to be built.

Great setup and a lot of fun to look at. Definitely gonna bring the family out. But... Couldn't help but notice there are over 58 stars on the US flag over the Police Station. ha! The fire station right next door has the proper 48 star flag since this setup is circa 1949 and therefore before Alaska (1958) and Hawaii (1959) were added as states. Tiny detail. Loved the video!

I went to college in Riverside and remember the many Santa Fe trains that would pass through there and Corona. Great layout! Now, how much does it look like Corona? (I do see a lot of Palm Trees!)
