Ohhhhh! Brotherrrrrr!! The Momiji!! OMG!!! Kirei Kirei!! I love how you described "downtown" Tokyo..... makes total sense. What I love especially, is how you share everything with us, by pointing out and describing everything. It's great for those of us that can't make it to Japan, but want to learn as much as we can. For that, I thank you!! Brother, I love your mask, but I noticed that it might be a tad too big for you, because it keeps sliding down. If you twist the loop that hooks around your ear.....one time or twice if needed, then hook it back onto your ear, it will tighten the mask, then you won't have to worry about it sliding down....

I recognized his mask kept sliding down. The hack of mask you mention is exactly I tell my son.

For mask sliding, double sided sticky tape that women use to keep strapless dresses from sliding around. My friend uses it on the cheek bones and/or bridge of the nose.

I so agree with you Shinichi about the carpet of leaves. I know that in Japan they sweep them up as quickly as they can so it's always special to get to see them. (I remember walking from the station to Himeji-jo where the street is also lined with ginkgo trees and the fan shaped leaves on the ground were so pretty.) I also love walking under the cherry trees at Sakura time when it is windy. Then the falling blossoms swirl around like snow before settling on the ground - also like snow.

Beautiful red maple leaves! Lovely trees. Central Park is gorgeous. I'm glad you are showing this one to us!! As amazing as seeing Tokyo Christmas lights!

The only time I've ever been to Japan was back in 2008. It was for hula and we stayed at that hotel, Hyatt Regency Tokyo. Your video stirred up some fun memories! I remember eating breakfast and looking out at the park. I also remember the government building having huge Olympics banners for 2012? 2016? Definitely not 2020 though. Shinjuku is amazing. I want to get back to Japan one day.

Japanese maple trees are very pretty but I especially love ginkgo trees, any time of the year. I have always found the leaf shapes to be particularly special and pleasing 😊

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Shinjuku in 2017, and we stayed about a block away from the Shinjuku Chuo Koen. I'll never forget visiting that park because of how absolutely quiet and serene it was. This video was a really nice bit of nostalgia for me. I hope I can visit this park again someday.

Thanks so much for this tour Shinichi! Stayed at the Hilton near the Hyatt in May 2018, and went to the Royal Host (18.43) right after arrival from NYC. Had some comforting vegetable soup and toast. Neither my friend nor I had slept on the plane :-)

Hi Shinichi my fave tour guide... How are you doing? Hope all is well. Thank you for this I’ve been saving it. My sister and my mum had to have Covid tests, thankfully both were negative. My sister is a carer so she must when she feels unwell, turns out she has a bad cold. Love your videos. Hope you’re doing well. Love lizzy That place would confuse the hell out of me.

I walked through this park to kill some time before my flight.home. My hotel, the Tokyo Hilton, was a block away from the Hyatt. Parts of the park were still under renovation at the time. Looks very nice now. On the way to the observation floor of the TMG, we faced the same problem of getting to the right level!

I've been to the goverment office a couple of times, always taking the underground route from the station. last bit you walk on "streetlevel" but I guess there is another below that hahaha. The very first thing my mother saw was the observatory in the government buildings. I know the park there but never when to it; I don't come in Shinjuku often when in Tokyo unless to change trains, and if I get of I am more on the new south or east side.

Ive been wondering, do you think Tokyo will change after the Olympics due to tourism? If so, do you you think the change would be for the better or how do you think things will change?
@Shinichisworld4 жыл бұрын
Looking back at history, the changes usually were for the better. I don’t think things will change much though.

Is homelessness a big problem in Japan? It makes so sad that even In 2020/21 that there are so many homeless people. :( Do people give them money or food? I saw a really good video about homelessness in Japan on the ‘Life Where I’m From’ channel about it but just wondered what your opinion was about it all and whether people feel sorry for them or if they find them to be a nuisance.

I'm sorry (not sorry) but your derogatory comment on the homeless was classless.
@lilbatz4 жыл бұрын
The way Japan handles the homeless population is light years a head of the US. The people you saw there are probably homeless men in their 50s +, with chronic alcoholism. They are the hardest group to reach out to. Japan tries, unlike the US, who fobs it off on church charities or ignores the issue. My city would have razed all that, and thrown the men into jail. Then in the AM, bus ticket put of town. You work at a shelter or just talking smack?
@annedugan31614 жыл бұрын
@@lilbatz Having been friends with, fed and clothed some of them and helped many more. Yes, some have addiction/mental health problems, but many don't. Some want no help and want to be left alone. It bothers me that anyone would treat or refer to them in a derogatory way. You don't have to agree with me, that's fine but don't get snarky with me either.
