I love going along, (through KZbin), on your hikes. I used to enjoy going into the Fan Creek meadows and fly-fishing. It was a long time ago now but your videos bring it all back. Thanks.

@@alfredleadbeaterjr.6053 your comments made me think. I have never seen on fishermen fishing Fan Creek in my life. That seems really odd. I have never seen anyone fishing Bighorn either.

@@marianfrances4959 one thing that makes huge tracks is when the grizzlies back foot lands on the front foot. So always count the toes. I think one of the big tracks had 6 toes.

So sorry. We’ve been a few times and I’m begging my husband to take me back but he won’t. I’m 70 and not able to hike as much as I’d like. Life is precious.

Interesting insight as to why the bears are going into the elk hunt area. Me, I would have thought they'd stay away, but easy meals, I get it.

I want to go on one of these hikes with you. I went backpacking last month in Northwest Yellowstone. We only saw a moose, but it had huge antlers. Really wanted to see a Grizzly.

Any time you see a grizzly solo hiking in the backcountry, they seem big. I can’t really calculate their size until I have a chance to observe them on my video.

Excellent videos. Just discovered them yesterday and spent way too much time enjoying them. I might have met you briefly a year or two ago beside the Dodd Lake canoe trail behind Powell River BC. About your age and height, said he spent a lot of time photographing bears in the interior. No much in the way of sight lines here in the coastal rainforest! Not as many grizzlies either, in that specific part of it, but there are a few. I need to make enough noise to not surprise one at 50 ft or less, and as a result of that the only viewing I get to do is on my trail cams.

@@billjaxin I see you have a lot of what looks to be interesting trail cams. I will have to spent some time looking at them.

@@StanMills those are pretty old. I have 10 in the lakes / Eldred area now and am itching to get back to them. Camera trapping is kinda like I imagine gold panning must be. Alone and tuned in, almost always getting gravel and that's ok. My next trip is the later part of this month, will update my videos after that. Love your work. Your artwork too.

I was hoping you were going to say that the grizzlies are coming out of the private land into the park to avoid the hunters. That won’t bode well for the grizzlies if they go out of the park to get the elk remains.
@Livingthewild2 ай бұрын
In the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, 10 bears have been shot and killed so far this year. My guess is, all of these bears were needlessly killed. For most of these clueless gun nuts, bear spray is a joke. Frustrating.
@hervedelnorte79282 ай бұрын
@@LivingthewildVery sad to hear. That’s part of the problem when dealing with trying to protect large, mobile species that don’t stay in a particular protected area boundary. Ideally it would be illegal to ‘hunt” them for “sport” outside the park too for at least 100 kms in each direction. In a perfect world you couldn’t hunt them anywhere.
@Livingthewild2 ай бұрын
@hervedelnorte7928 In a perfect world, there would be no "sport" hunting. Sport is when both competitors agree to compete. "Sport" hunting is nothing more than pleasure killing. G bears are protected in the lower 48. These bears were gunned down in "Self-defense." Considering grizz occupy only 3% of their original range, I would disallow any type of hunting in their current range. Clearly, humans don't have the moral capacity to manage guns, bombs, et. al..

I would love to do an elk hunt there. The problem is I am the only one in my family that eats wild game so it would be dumb to kill an elk. I would never eat it all by myself. Ill tale elk meat donations if anyone feels generous!
