Beauty Tour: Lynn Steven | Vancouver, Canada

The next episode of my Beauty Tour series takes you to Lynn Steven, a minimal clean beauty boutique that was tucked away in Gastown, Vancouver. Sadly not long after I visited, the lovely founder Nicole made the difficult decision to close the store, but I still wanted to make this video to celebrate this beautiful space, and highlight the local Canadian and international brands on display.

Matilda I'm so happy that you decided to make this video despite the fact that the store is no longer operational. I love that your decision promotes the founder to feel encouraged to open the store again (or an online version). Matilda, I love these videos of yours. They are so serene but interesting at the same time. You have a wonderful eye for framing and aesthetics. I really hope you keep sharing this kind of content. It's so sad this place had shut down. Seemed like a really lovely store. I was wondering, considering you're a big wearer of bold lips, if you could do a video of your fave blush and lip combos for when you're doing a bolder lip. I've just gotten into wearing a bolder lip with no or mininal makeup, but I never know what blush to wear with a bold lip and would love to see a video where you show us your fave blush with bold lip combos. My fave shades right now are CT Bond girl, bobbi brown crushed lip colour in ruby, nars velvet matte in cruella and still trying to figure out what kind of blush shades go with these kind of lip shades.

Ooh good question - I guess I only ever wear my blush in a really subtle way so it doesn't clash with my lip colour. I've never really thought about matching it to my lips, sorry! 😬 x

I know, such a shame! Unfortunately I didn't come across any independent boutiques quite like this one, but the Nordstrom and Holt Renfrew on Granville St have great beauty departments 👍 x

Nicole didn't share exactly why, but understandably said it was an extremely hard decision and a number of factors came into it 😥 Retail is tough, particularly when it's just one person running a business! I wish her all the best for whatever comes next x
