The thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the only unique thing in the fornula is the added oils, but those oils weren't in the original formula. So, what exactly was her custom formula?

Andrea Her original formula may have contained the exact same ingredients as the regular Morphe formula, but in slightly different amounts. Two formulas with identical ingredients can actually contain different *amounts* of each ingredient, even if they remain in the same order on the ingredients list. The order of ingredients is “most to least”, but that doesn’t tell you how much is “most”...so like, the first ingredient could be 60% of the product in one formula, but only 40% in another. Adjusting the amount of even one ingredient could change the product’s quality or appearance. I really don’t think she created a totally different formula like she claims, I think she just made some improvements to the generic formula...and then Morphe changed it again.

I commented on the op. This could open them up to litigation due to advertising the pallet as vegan for a full year. I was a biiiig morphe supporter but I’ll no longer be purchasing from them and that truly sucks. But I can’t use products with carmine. The fact I almost bought it thinking it was vegan and now it’s out in the public it’s not anymore is a relief and a disappointment. I was so excited to buy the palettes but I can’t anymore because of it. Just very very shady to not mention to your customers that the formula went under a major change and the didn’t think it was necessary to tell the public. Just gross

The contract could have had an expiration on the formulation. Meaning that jacelyn may have signed that the formula was exclusive to her palette BUT it didn’t include a permanence to how long they would actually produce her formula.

It also is the fact that the copyright is only for that specific formula. It likely was a case where other people cant use the formula but morphie could change it at any time. A slight change in the ingredients (an ingredient appearing higher/lower on the list) can make it no longer under the copyright and there for other makeup brands can use the new formula but not the old one Idk how to explain what I'm saying lol sorry I know that likely didnt make much sense

And when looking at the new pallets being placed on the Morphe display I noticed an intense difference even just looking at it, and decided to swatch them at work just for fun it was highly disappointed in the results. I'm glad JenLuvsReviews did that video. I'm VERY allergic to carmine around my eyes, so it didn't surprise me to hear that a user's eyelids itched after using the new version. Luckily, I have the original one, but obviously won't be supporting this line here in 2020.

I just wanna say, I work in the lab and develop paint and lacquer formulas. Additives, which are added in really small amounts (below 1%, often just 0,01%) can change the formula DRASTICALLY. The same goes for cosmetics. So yes, the last few ingredients, even though they're added in really small amounts, can and will have drastic effects on the formula. Balancing those additives perfectly is what makes creating a formula tricky and time consuming, it is what makes the formula unique.

I'm so glad to know that morphe has switched to adding carmine to their products. My friends have all told me about how amazing it is, especially for a vegan formula and I was interested in purchasing due to its cheap price and my extreme allergies to carmine. No wonder why my eyes swelled and I had hives after my friend did my makeup recently... We were under the impression that the palette was vegan???

I had purchased the palette in Dec 2018. After watching Jen Luvs Reviews I went to look at my pallet. Since I no longer had the box I emailed Morphe about my batch number to find out if it was changed. Morphe emailed me back and they said the did a soft transition in June of 2018 on. They offered me a credit if I was not able to use the palette due to it no longer being vegan. I truly appreciate that! They just needed proof of purchase or photos of my pallet.

I saw the new palette at ULTA and even said something to one of the girls working th ere that it was different then the one I have.the colors were different and it felt different. I knew I wasn't crazy and I am so grateful to Jen for bring this up.
