THIS after I worked so hard for years to get rid of my teenage acne. My post-pregnancies 30s hormonal acne is just as bad!

I was always acne prone but it seems like my golden years for managing my acne ended a few years ago(32). Now I'm exactly the same where suddenly I'll get deep cystic pimples once a month. It drives me crazy but I love hearing other people experience the same and what they do for it.

I'm 43 and the biggest difference I noticed as soon as I turned 40 is that my skin has a mind of its own during seasonal changes. I would get dry patches on my cheeks and I've never experienced that before in my 20s and 30s because I had generally oily skin. I still suffer from adult acne, as well as sebaceous filament on my nose, enlarged pores, and some acne scars. My approach to skincare these days is making it as simple as possible. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis either, only run my face with some setting powder in the morning to even out skin tone. All my girlfriends in Asia have gotten some sort of cosmetic treatments. For example, Thermage FLX is super popular in Taiwan right now and I'm very tempted. So far I have not gotten any cosmetic treatments, most likely out of laziness. My attitude toward skincare is to embrace what I have (as flawed as it may be). I always say "it is what it is" 😆

I’m turning 33 next month. Up until the last year or so, I always had normal-oily skin, but now it’s definitely more on the combo-dry side. I always thought people with dry skin had it so much easier, but I now know I was wrong!

In some ways isn't it though? I'm about to turn 38 and still as oily as ever. I have to have blotting paper with me at all times and look for moments during work when I can sneakily use it.
@JamieLynneLifestyle2 ай бұрын
@ I used to have that problem, but now, it’s hard to wear foundation without them showing all the cracks of my dry skin. Dry skin is also more easily sensitized and irritated.

Me too! Turning 33 at the end of Nov. I’ve always been hella oily, like REALLY. I’m still oily, but noticed I get dehydrated also nowadays, and I have to exfoliate more!

What! That's one of the reason why I am looking forward to age so my skin can be less oily lol I am 31 and still oily lol

i think it’s beautiful that fel said she feels more like herself as the years go on🩷 i’m only in my early 20s but i feel the same way! i think teenage years are filled with questions, 20s are filled with questions and just being overwhelmed lol but eventually everything makes sense i hope! 🥹

I’m mid 30s and my skin hasn’t changed that much yet. I’ve always had dehydrated combo skin in summertime and dehydrated dry skin in winter. K & J beauty has helped me so much though!

My biggest skin changes occurred in my teen years (cystic acne, severe allergies), 40’s (everything calmed down, got compliments on skin) and early 60’s (super sensitivity, TEWL like never before, and continual issues with skin barrier).

Thank you for the video! I recently turned 40's and noticed some changes. I learned my skin barrier feels more sensitive from all the rubbing. I have to be more gentle with my skin. I am applying my skincare products all the way down to my upper chest to help prevent fine lines. I wonder if there will be a video on tweens and teens with acne prone skin in these series. This wasn't around when I was a tween/teen and I have always been struggling. Since there are more products accessible and have gentler ingredients, I want to get something for my daughter. Her friends are into skincare and I want to buy gifts for them as a beginner since xmas is around the corner.

In my early 30s skin was fine and didnt have blemishes or anything, but then i thought for well aging approach i started using tretinoin and peel, noooooo, it took me so long to build back my skin barrier, i thought why the heck my skin got so dry and sensitive, i didnt know it was cos the tretinoin and random peel i did and didnt pay attention to taking care of skin barrier. Went to doctor for help cos the constant redness, sensitivity and dryness. Stop tretinoin cos it’s not for me. Took me a whole year and a half for healthy barrier. Now im very mindful with my skin care it’s all about strong healthy skin barrier and body health in general.

thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! it's always interesting for me to hear about what you're unique experiences are like! I have heard from so many people that tret is very drying, and has a learning curve when it comes to learning how to properly nourish the skin from dryness. But so glad you figured it out, and hopefully found kbeauty on that journey too! hehe - fel x
