Beavers Clogged All 4 Culverts!!

October 30th, 2023, It's getting chilly. It snowed pretty well on my drive here. This is one of my favorite spots. I have been coming here for as long as I have been fighting beavers. I actually caught my first beaver here, I can still remember the exact spot. There was a ruffed grouse right in the middle of the road waiting for me, and I picked up some more rocks to tumble over the winter.

Beautiful backdrop bummer it was hard to see the culverts. Curious why you stomp in front of the culvert but turn around & use the rake where you just compressed it. Can’t wait for beaver dam removals. ❤. Stay safe out there.

Hey, lps chick. 👋 Yea, I didn't have the best equipment that day, lol. That's a good question. It depends on what's there. They are all a bit different. Most of the time, there is a lot of silt or clay. When it's all soft, I find it easier to use my feet. I also use my feet to feel around to see what there. Sticks, mud,rocks, clay, critters 😳. Then, once it's squished down, the rake works well. The idea is to use the current to wash it down by stirring it up with my feet.

At the top of the tripod, where the 3 legs come together, underneath the camera connection look to see if there's a hook. You can hang a weight like a bag or something to help stabilise your tripod.
