Yes, and again, this was unfortunate for fans but I think we all need to understand how this breadcrumbing was always part of the reasons BLACKPINK was so sought after. YG made them a scared offering and whenever they came back, they just look so flamboyant that people just wanted for more. A good marketing strategy I would say.

Aside from my other comment, it’s exciting to see what the girls will do now that they have the freedom to do what they want to achieve. I’m most excited for what rosé will do seeing as she’s the one who’s most interested in connecting to fans and making music, but I think all 4 will do amazing things. I’m ok with waiting a while for a blackpink comeback. I mostly listen to western artists so I’m used to waiting for artists to release music. I don’t like when artists put out music all the time, it makes it harder to love and digest what exists, In my opinion at least lol 😅

About Lisa, as much as I respect her professionalism and passion for work, it's also hard for me to view her in the same light since her performance in Crazy Horse de Paris. It’s hard for me to take anything Lisa does seriously bc her fans make her out to be the victim in her situation with yg. Her artist statement feels like it was written by her number one yes man trying to inflate her ego. Like yes some of her achievements do surpass her peers, but she’s not the only one with multi Guinness world records. She has a billion streams and those solo awards bc her fans pushed for those achievements, not bc the music is good (don’t act like lalisa and money are good songs, they’re not, if they were made by anyone else you’d agree with me). And she’s garnered such a large audience bc her fans like to push the mistreatment narrative. If she wants to have an inflated ego that’s fine, but all 4 girls are at the beginning of their solo careers (don’t give me shit about when they solo debuted and whatnot) and to come out guns blazing acting like you’re top of the line best in the business is nuts. 10 years from now we’ll look back and see who’s still standing. Like yes, she’ll do well, but she’s yet to do anything actually groundbreaking and amazing in comparison to other artists. When she *actually* does something groundbreaking that her fandom can’t touch, then maybe I’ll be able to give her her flowers. Call me a hater or whatever but at least I’m not blinded by bias.

YG was always critical of 2NE1 that’s why he had no problem disbanding them, especially since YG still had Big Bang and Psy. BlackPink represented about 80% of YG’s revenue. The first seven years, YG had TOTAL CONTROL over the girls. It was cheaper to have fewer comebacks and he didn’t like award shows. IN NO WAY was YG going to have the same amount of control in the next contract because the girls just had too much leverage so no way would he be able to treat them like 2NE1. I love 2NE1 but they just weren’t as valuable to YG as Blackpink. In the end, YG just couldn’t afford the girls individual contracts. The girls simply became too big. They only agreed to remain as a group with YG because YG owned the name Blackpink
