Glad to know you're back yo Tokyo safe and sound. Permed hairstyle looks good on you, Rion.😊Great useful tips on Shinkansen, i.e., the reserved seat overlooking Mt. Fuji! You can use the cute bento jar as a home decor, too.😊Be healthy and safe for your Mt Fuji climb soon!

Yes, finally-after four years-lovin’ it!! 😆🐙👍 I was so curious about this elusive ekiben (ever since Ep. 190 🤓) that I also bought one, and the pot proudly sits on my kitchen counter holding tasting spoons. Also, I almost missed Mt. Fuji cuz I fell asleep 😱, but (thanks to my drool 😝) I woke up just in time (🗻 only seen for a few minutes! ). Let’s keep making more dreams come true, turning more “maybe next time”s to “this time”s.

Why because you earn from the likes......you should earn since it's not easy to regularly do vlogs. Keep on walking Rion and I will keep on pressing Likes in all your vlogs....my simple way of helping you😊

Really enjoyed the video! Thank you for sharing your journey back to Tokyo! For sure this year you are checking off so much from your bucket list. You're rocking it out!🎉 You even lucked out with that bento and seating. So happy for you. Congrats on finalizing your Mt. Fuji climbing plans. Rooting for your smooth and safe ascend to the top. It is better have a guide than rush through by yourself and risk any danger. Don't ever feel rushed to go through with a plan if you are not ready. No matter what, when you put your mind to it, when the time is right, you will do it!!! Let's keep walking. 😊 PS-Nice haircut! You seem to be feeling the style 😎

25:59 In case any Americans didn’t catch this: “Summer time” is another name for Daylight saving time, most often encountered in Europe (when English is used, ofc). Japan does not currently observe it, but did for a few years during post-WWII occupation. Apparently from time to time (ha) there is talk of reintroducing it, but the discussion doesn’t go anywhere.

daylight saving is just stupid in our part of our world and society. if it doesnt work here or help what is the point? simple as that. Make it feel trendy at least, like coffee.

I have just returned home from Split after attending a magical piano recitle by the extraordinay Hayato Sumino down there and immediately upon that I am joining to the virtual trip with you dear Rion. There is of course no comparisson between a five hour ride by a bus on the highway (some 400 km) and 2,30 hour Shinkansen ride. Yes we have also a railway connection between Zagreb and Split but it takes 8h and even the students who may ride it on free do not use this opportunity but prefer bus. If we would have our Shinkansen it would be another story but it is just Utopia. Anyhow I like your Bento jar very much although I am not that much fond of its content, which is clearly of no importance. Finally you could have enjoyed it in an almost empty Shinkansen non-reserved seat waggon. After Obon and typhoon what a luck. What a thrill Mt. FUJI adventure is closer and closer. But although you are fit due to your long time walking experience please prepare well following the suggestions of your rather experient climbing friend. Good quality alpine boots/shoos are essential as well as the addaptation to the hight. As you will be filming you will have just one hand free to use the climber's stock. Please be careful - no rush is needed. Looking forward to next vlogs. Take care and be safe (hoping you have no problem with your nail - should have healed so far) GAAOOOOOO!!!!!!👍💪

Lucky that you get to try out the bento that you're longing for a long time. What are you going to do with the jar? Hopefully, you had a great and safe hiking journey at Mt Fuji. With the recent price hike on J Pass and termination of tourist Suica, I think Shinkansen will be less affordable for the tourists now.

Can someone explain why he can change the date of the ticket? Does that mean if you buy a ticket and you miss your train.. you can just go to the office and use that ticket in the future?
@RionIshida
@RionIshida 11 ай бұрын
Because it’s originally the special reserved ticket, you can change the date in the specific period only once though. As long as it’s not the reserved sheet, you can ride Shinkansen in anytime in the day. If you miss the train in the day, you can just ride non reserved sheet or pay extra cost for reservations.(around 1,000 yen )

Thanks for the video Rion. I still do not understand why taking Nozomi 200 and over is better for non-reserved seats? Can you or anyone kindly clarify?
@RionIshida
@RionIshida 11 ай бұрын
It's start leaving from Osaka so that you can find empty seat much easier. some trains start leaving from Fukuoka, so that there would be many passengers already seated when it arrived to Osaka ^^
@llcspy97
@llcspy97 11 ай бұрын
@@RionIshida I see, thanks for clarifying. I understand better now. I visited Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka last month (July) and booked my Nozomi Shinkansen rides for myself for the first time. It was fun and yet confusion especially the requirement for 2 tickets and during exiting. I didn't get any JR pass because I prefer the faster trains (Nozomi) and their higher frequency, all because I seemed to be "rushing" for time. I have not had enough time in Japan, all because I tend to overspend time during shopping or meals. Anyways I hope to be back soon. I was very happy to have caught the latest Ghibli movie although I had no idea what it was all about but only enjoying the artistic animation and soundtrack. I also visited Ghibli park in Nagoya and the Harry Potter Warner Bros studio in Tokyo. Nope, I didn't go to any Disney or Universal though. Not enough time. hahaha... next time! soon I hope. As always thanks for your videos they are helpful. Looking forward to see your Fujisan trips and videos too.
