This is the type of stuff we should’ve been learning in gym class. We shouldn’t have just been told to run a mile but HOW to run a mile…

@@arnold-pdevI think you missed the point, saying that you should join track so that you can learn what you should have learned in p.e. is like saying you should join the scholars bowl to learn algebra. If your in high school you can join track to learn what you should have learned in p.e., but that doesn't change the fact that it should be taught in p.e.

They taught us when we did running 😭 the gym teacher even ran with us because we’d have to run around the neighbourhood. She’d run beside us and tell us what to do with your arms to conserve energy. I’m surprised it’s not commonplace?

I have been working my way up to running 5k (I'm now 2/3 of the way there, woohoo) and her videos on running have been super helpful on relearning how to run. I'm a sprinter by nature and learning how to run at a consistent pace feels very different for me.

I also was a weightlifting girlie before running! Thank you for slowing down and showing all of your advice in multiple ways. I'm a visual learner and it really helps that you not only explain it VERY well, you then back it up with visuals. I look forward to my next run 🥰

I tried this the other day and it really made a difference. It felt as if my body or the "fall" was taking me forwards instead of me dragging myself forwards. It was much easier running like this. Thanks for bringing it up and continuing to explain it further.

YES!!! I was trying to explain to my husband why running at a consistent pace took so much more concentration for me than sprinting. With running I have to think about what my body is doing otherwise my knees will hurt. Whereas with sprinting I just go for it and I don't need to think about it anymore because that's what I've done for forever with playing soccer almost my entire life.

I only run because I want to be more efficient with each stride. With each perfect stride I build up the speed to where the run is effortless. It took awhile but now I can run 5km at conversational pace. Aiming for 10km in 6 months and attempting 1/2 marathon by end of the year.

I tried this, but I found myself running way too fast and a nice leisurely 4 km run turned into a very tiring speedrun. I think I’ll have to try a few more times and find the perfect level of leaning.

Love the science sistren ( jargon for girl as friend where im from .lol) U one of the few a forward lean with that response.. the same response as me .. Just one part of your opinion i disagree with. U dont absorb forces more efficiently with the forward lean .. the forces are use is added to your momentum forward. If u absorb the forces, you will get injured . In your opinion, why does compression sock work in terms of supporting the calves with impact forces
