Thank you for sharing your journey with lasix! Everyone I know who has gotten it done has said nothing but wonderful things, so I hope the next place you find is a better fit. Personally I’ve worn glasses for over 25 years and lasix has always been one of those things that I look at and think “wow that’s so cool that it’s an option!” And never consider doing it myself because glasses have become such a part of me. 😅The idea that I could no longer just tip my head and suddenly not have to watch the scary parts of a horror movie seems incomprehensible, which is objectively a really silly reason lol

Oops this comment got really long. Sorry! But firstly: Wanting a more personalized healthcare/surgery experience is definitely valid. I had glasses for almost two decades before I finally got LASIK just over two years ago, and even back when I once tried a larger chain store to get new glasses, I learned the same thing about myself in that I hateee the impersonal "assembly line" protocol many of them seem to have. It's not crazy to want to be able to have a good customer rapport relationship with the people who are working directly with your personal medical needs. As for my LASIK (I'm American, btw): my only regret was not having the $ for it sooner! Bc boy, have I not missed needing glasses just to read my bedside table clock. My eyesight was realllllly bad before (525/575) and now I am 20/18 in both eyes. The whole surgery took ~15 min for both eyes- the setup is what took the longest, and I have to say the Dr. & nurses were all super personable with me and even asked multiple times up to minutes before going in if I had any questions. The office I went with also do monthly webinars on the procedure, complete with pictures of their staff and the machines used, so I was super knowledgeable and had all my ?s answered well before I ever committed to a down payment. I went into the office at 2pm, and was leaving for home by 3pm...and that was only bc they were running a little behind with the person ahead of me. The only things I remember about the surgery itself was focusing on not blinking when I needed to be still (there was a nurse next to me talking me through the whole thing, & she instructed when I could blink so I didn't have to hold it for long), the totally weirddddd (but not painful!) sensation of the eye flap cutting situation, and the slight smell of the laser as it happened. Happy to answer any questions you have, but thoughts from my own experience: -Only real long-term side effect for me is that I wake up with dry eye ~50% of the time...usually after nights when I read before bed. A quick drop in each eye in the morning and I'm good to go. -My surgery was on a Thursday, so I took Friday off of work (a desk job) + the weekend to recover. I was back working by Monday, just doing the healing drops every couple hrs. I also drove myself to my Tuesday post-op appointment. -By the 2nd week, you're like 85% healed. First month, you're 95% & can wean off healing drops & just need the moisture ones. The full 100% can take closer to 6 mos, as your eyes (& brain) are trying to recalibrate long-term without the aid of glasses anymore. I had pretty acute light sensitivity the first couple mos, & tho it settled down, I still don't like going outside during a brighter day without sunglasses (which most ppl should be doing anyway lol). -I also have anxiety, so the one thing I wished I did was take my anxiety meds BEFORE my surgery. I had to have my eyes closed the whole way home even with sunglasses on due to instant light sensitivity from the moment I stepped out of surgery. My parents drove me to/from the appointment, and I was definitely having a mini panic attack in the car thinking I had possibly just paid thousands of $ just to go blind. I got home, took my anxiety meds, and was finally able to calm enough to sleep for a couple hours like you're supposed to. These first hours are the worst of the burning/itchy sensation too, & I had to black out my room window and tie a cloth around my head to keep out all light. Once I woke up (slept from about 4pm-7pm), the sun was going down & I went into the living room where my mom had stayed in case I needed her. The TV was on, and even though I needed sunglasses for the light sensitivity, (get this!) I could ALREADY read the TV subtitles from across the room. Needless to say I was so relieved I cried lol. I didnt want to overdo it though, so I mostly had an ice pack over my eyes while I listened to podcasts on the couch that first evening. The next morning I woke up being able to see perfectly. So the TLDR here is (IMO): the first couple hours are a bit of a b*tch, but if you can mentally prepare & get through those, it's easy peasy from there. That's pretty much it, really. The habit of trying to push my (now non-existent) glasses up my nose still happens sometimes even two years later 😆. And I'll still sometimes get the feeling that I'm missing something when getting ready in the morning bc I no longer have to put my glasses on. It's crazy how decades of a habit can stick with you lol. All in all: 10/10 would absolutely do it again if I used my anxiety meds before rather than after the procedure. Hope this helps you at all! ☺

I’m the same way with my sight and I canceled my appointment. I’ve worn glasses for 15 years and felt weird about not? Like as an identity piece? I rarely wear contacts, mostly only during the summer to swim. So I canceled and haven’t really thought about it since seeing this video lmao my dad has had maybe ten intensive surgeries on his eyes and they’ve all been perfectly fine, so I have a positive influence, I just simply can’t let my glasses go 🤓

I'm glad you did what you thought was right regarding your surgery. I also don't know what your thoughts are on leaving reviews. But I would leave a review giving a short run down on how your felt as that may be something they work on as a company, especially as you are not the only one who has medical anx. and it may help other in the future as well ☺

I had a laser eye consultation at optical express and it also gave me more anxiety than anything else. In my case i wasn't suitable for it due to other complications but I cried for like 2 hours after the appointment. I feel ya. Also, buckle up if you decide to read Dark Age as that is the gateway to depression.

I had Lasix surgery on 1 eye over 15 years ago on just one eye. No problems. As a nurse I know they have to tell you the worst because of liability. Maybe try one, the worst one. I had the best sleep after my surgery.
