The reality is in certain situations it's good for the customer and the tech too. That pump was probably just bound up And I'm sure if that was Steve's own house he wouldn't have changed it once he freed it up. For a customer, you do. If a new one costs 100 and you sell it for 120 you clear 20. But if you sell one off another job for 50, you make 50 and the customer saves 70 vs new. Win win.

Hey Steve, i had the same problem last week. I changed the pump, because i could not unbind it like you were able to do, but it ran for a day, then got a call back after i put a second pump because it seized up as well, and put a third pump and it seized up too. The first two pumps i used were used pumps and the third a new one. Anyway, long story put short, it was the oil. It was a outdoor regular oil tank and a two pipe system also, and when i pulled the copper lines out of the oil tank, they were all gummed up and very sticky. I changed the tank and the oil and no problems yet. I changed the tank because i had one i wanted to get rid of, and the guy wanted to do it anyway.

i put FPPF 4 in 1 in my tank every time I fill. gets rid of the sludge and water in the tank. before I started putting that in I had to change nozzles 2 times a season. after the second tank with FPPF, i go 2 seasons b4 I change the nozzle and filter and when I take it out it's not really that bad

That's how the guy (old Frenchman, that cooks like a Portuguese, HVAC/Plummer can't trust'em) that taught me would do it. I think in this case an old pump was the right call for the reason that it appears that whatever is causing the pumps to burnout is still there so a new pump ain't going to solve that. Solve the fuel problem first. Is there a restriction in the return? Is the return line against the bottom of the tank? (I think you have videoed that issue before) Is there moisture in the tank still? So many questions, but a new pump ain't the answer to any of those questions. If you wanted to waste the guys money then yes, if you want to do a follow-up to dig deeper then the pump is not an issue. Let the old pump fail and then dig deeper. I think that would be 3 pumps in 14 (or more) years, the current pump should last plenty long enough. It's obvious the pump ain't the problem, and there ain't that much in the loop that would cause the pumps to fail.

@@Samlol23_drrich It just doesn't show dislikes. You can still comment your dislike but that does take energy and balls which many people lack. Dislike on KZbin is actually worthless anyway. I have seen it on Steve's channel and others where there will be 8 dislikes before video even has a chance to be finished after posting. They dislike not for content but because they are trolls or just dislike the channel.

@@J-Colt listen- I hear what you are saying and always take dislikes with a grain of salt but there is just no reason to change the policy unless it is to obscure the true feelings of the majority of the people. You're being naive if you dont realize this all comes down to the 2:1 dislike to like ratio of some of those Fauci videos and the 10:1 dislike to like ratio of some current biden policy videos. Its all about keeping the majority from realizing they are the majority. Nothing more.

@@Samlol23_drrich Could be. I am pretty simple about the whole issue. If I don't like someone's content or even the person themselves, I just don't watch it and go else where.
