The little reddish orange tank top with flowers was mine I sent to you a while back! (I think January 2018). It was mentioned in your last post office box video. I'm happy you got some use out of it even for a small amount of time, it never quite fit me correctly either. I wore it a bunch in high school and now I've just graduated college! I just figured you'd like to know the small bit of backstory and now it can go onto a new home! It probably cost no more than $10 from forever 21 and I'm so happy it's living a completely new life over in the UK. Best of luck with your weight journey Becky! xx

It's so interesting to hear the backstory behind each piece. I need to do something like that when I get back home (presently on my annual 4 month trip to BC). I regularly purge but am a big thrift shopper, sometimes having to buy extra suitcases or ship stuff home in boxes from travelling. Some clothes just seem impossible to get rid of because of the symbolic or emotional value but maybe using the fabric for crafts could act as some sort of beneficial catharsis.

Over the last couple of years I’ve lost a lot of weight (which in my case is a GOOD thing). Yes, it can be hard getting rid of old clothes; items with good memories attached, that were bought on overseas trips or that I just like! Good on you for parting with so much! And yes, it is very weird when old stuff fits again (e.g. I now fit in a T-shirt I got at Disneyland when I was 8!).

Hi Beckie! Love this video, I've had a lot of time on my hands recently so I've been going through all my old clothes and stuff. Yes, most of the clothes I hardly wear, some of them I've bought from various charity and second hand shops through the years. Unfortunately I'm a brand obsessive, not as much I used to be, but I still have clothes from 10 years ago that are still in mint condition. My Van's T shirts and Levi's jeans are I'll keep forever. Watching from London.

I can relate to how you feel a little bit. I recently gained a bunch of weight after getting depression and having to quit my job. I've always been thin and I'm still considered thin now, but I'm 15-20 lbs larger than I've been for the last 10 years of my life. Most people don't get it because to them I still look thin, but when I walk past a mirror I'm surprised every time. I just don't look like what my mind expects. It's really disheartening so sending you love and support through the internet. People are saying in the comments that you look great, and you do, but sometimes it doesn't help to hear it. For me, it wasn't just that I didn't look as good as before. It's that I looked different than my internal image.

Clothes you thought you'd left behind popping back into your life and identity in the now. Being I, like so many, struggle with body image, you reassured me. It's generally reassuring when you talk about things, partially because you emphasize that this stuff is a big deal. Congrats on getting rid of so much stuff. Hugs, Beckie.

I don't connect so much with your going back to clothes and therefore in a sense a time you've had before, but the 'not feeling like you're in my own skin' thing I relate to. Even scrolling through the comments, I'm seeing a lot of people saying you "still look great," or they "haven't noticed too much of a change," which is something I'm hearing a lot as well recently and I've gained a bit of weight. Not so much that others are calling it out, but enough where I feel like I'm a new shape and I don't feel like me. But I'm becoming more comfortable with it.
