Becks Story - Supporting those Bereaved by Suicide

As part of World Mental Health month (October), Lifeline has collaborated with producer and director Janet Carr, who lost her partner Firgal to suicide in early 2011, to produce a series of short films for those bereaved by suicide.
Each year approximately two and half thousand Australians end their life by suicide.
At the moment of their loved one's death, the pain begins for those left behind.
Grief is a painful process for everyone but suicide grief is particularly excruciating. Those who are bereaved by suicide thirst for knowledge in an attempt to find some meaning out of the devastation suicide leaves in its wake. Families and friends struggle with feelings of isolation, rejection and guilt. Those bereaved are tormented with the endless questions of "why" and "if only" that surround their loved one's death. Their lives of the loved ones left behind are forever and irrevocably changed.
What can ease the pain is the knowledge that you are not alone, that how you are feeling is a natural and normal response to the extreme emotional turmoil of suicide.
This film tells the story of Beck who over time has rebuilt her life in the wake of the suicide of her brother Steve.
