This is awesome! Vegan and lowFODMAP definitely throws up some challenges 😅 I didn't realise you can get jackfruit canned, need to track some down and give it a go! My channel is all about being vegan and lowFODMAP if you need some more inspiration, although you seem like you've got it down. How are you finding Veganuary? It's totally worth for the environment, animals and your health ✌️ xx (also fyi, depending how strict vegan you are being, Genius bread has egg in)

It will be helpful if you do low fodmap meals on a budget a week. And also substitutes you use for everyday high fodmap products.

Those recipes look great. Thanks for sharing Becky. What I've been loving recently that i want to eat every day is Roasted Aubergine, mixed peppers, (Diced into small pieces) in garlic olive oil, along with Quinoa cooked in some Fody foods Vegetable stock cube, & other vegetables like peas, sweetcorn, broccoli. Then i add maybe a splash of soya sauce and Mango chutney & coriander. I love it and want to eat it every day. Cannot live without Quinoa now & its a great source of fibre too. ;)

How did your stomach handle the jackfruit? I was just looking up jackfruit with the low fodmap diet and that's high in fodmaps for the frozen ones and I can't find information for the canned one.

I've never tried maple syrup, looks delicious! But it's super expensive in my country, around $16 for 250ml. Vanilla extract doesn't exist here at all. Also, can I skip coconut oil? So make pancakes with flour + milk + baking powder and that's it?

Is young jackfruit low Fodmap? The Monash app only specifies freeze dried jackfruit, which is high Fodmap. I'd be so happy to have another thing to add to my list of ingredients :D

sadly no. It just taste meaty to me which I have never enjoyed anyway. It makes me feel like I am eating meat.
@BeckyExcell7 жыл бұрын
aww that's such a shame. I didn't think it tasted too meaty really just the right balance. As long as you find foods that work for you thats the main thing :) x

Great video Becky - I try to be vegan but I'm not very creative in the kitchen - I'd rather be in the garden : ) I bought a can of jackfruit on a whim and it's been sitting in the cupboard because I didn't know what to do with it. I just have to find the low FODMAP BBQ sauce now - I'm in Adelaide S Australia. Not as good as UK for finding things a bit out of the ordinary but there's always net... Thanks for the recipes. Angela X

Hello I watch a lot of your videos as I'm also on low fodmap diet did uz both know that you can make your own garlic infused oil just peel it and put it into a good quality organic Olive oil and leave it for as long as uz like I tried it and it tastes amazing, the vegatable oils that you use are toxic to the human body always good to know I try a lot of your recipes and r really good I tried to go vegan vegaterian but I lost over 2 stone it's not a healthy diet to be on I don't eat red meat but I do need chicken and pork for protein keep it up you do fantastic 🙏😘

I read everywhere that chickpeas are bad for IBS suffererswho need low fodmap - also rice should be whole grain or brown.
@BeckyExcell6 жыл бұрын
Hey Liz, some high FODMAP foods have safe serving sizes that makes them low FODMAP - like chickpeas. White rice is low FODMAP too. Hope that helps x

I had a look up of this and people seemed to be quite mixed on this with young jackfruits. Some people said you waste the fruit by not using it.. I will try both ways though :) xx
