Become Okay With Being Alone

I've noticed that I'm more introverted than I am extroverted...for me it's more of a financial decision as well...I find that when hanging out with other people you end up spending money you had not planned on spending, not because of peer pressure but more so the temptation you get entangled in at that point...I find that those around me don't mind shopping at the expensive supermarket whereas I go to the discount store, so I would rather go shopping by myself and go eat by myself just to avoid "going with the crowd"...I do see that my friends are from more affluent backgrounds and they don't have any obligations back home, so I try and do most things by myself to avoid throwing myself over a financial cliff, I do go out with them occasionally but most times it's just me

Being alone doesnt always mean you're lonely and people dont get that. Spending time alone and doing things alone is sooo peaceful because no one gets me like me

There is nothing wrong with living alone. I also had similar experience, going to study abroad, without knowing anyone there. I think many chinese people might be impressed by what you did and that's why this reaction.

I find it hard for me to make meaningful friendship here Asia. I tend to spend time alone these days plus I am also focusing on my research. These days I only have one close friend
