THANK YOU! my armenian great-grandparents came to the US after the genocide, my fedayi great-grandfather returned from fighting for the french in armenia then moving to america, went to syria and found his wife in an armenian orphanage there and brought her back to marry. she lived to an old age and made beautiful hand laces in huge quantity her whole life. my childhood family home had these beautiful curtains she made all by hand in such elaborate lace patterns. it must have taken ages. she had such a difficult life and watched her whole family killed in their home while she hid in a cabinet , she was so young a woman when she came to new country but still remembered her whole life how to do this beautiful art of hand lacing. unfortunately she died 2 years before my birth but i am so happy to find what she had been doing and a way to learn it. amazing that lace making is home craft in armenian tradition and not just something for upper classes it is something made in the home by women, so beautiful. thank you so so much this tutorial is so helpful to get me started to learn how to do this craft as well and hope to keep it alive in my family. ❤ 🇦🇲 ❤

I love this tutorial, thank you so much! Your clear teaching style reminds me of my aunt showing me how to stitch when I was a child, such happy memories--and I must say your skill is incredible but also so encouraging! Thank you so much! Your instructions are easy to follow and you didn’t speed up for the sake of time! Your movements were completely visible and you weren’t afraid to repeat yourself which I liked! I was able to successfully make these first steps on the first try! Also your voice brought back some good memories! My Dad’s side of my family and my stepmom’s side are Hungarian. Your accent sounds very similar to my step-grandmother’s accent. My paternal grandmother had a bit of an accent too. It’s comforting to hear that Eastern European sounding accent. I don’t hear it often anymore. My maternal grandmother was the needle arts person in my family though. She had no accent, but she had a very straight forward and patient way of explaining things like you. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from you and remembering all those wonderful memories of my family who aren’t around to teach me things anymore.

I have been following you and your lovely work for many months now...!!! As a matter of fact, I had just seen your first video on the subject over and over many times and could not figure out the movement of the needle... Today I found this new, to me, video and I feel I can, MAYBE, have it sunk into my brain some day soon if I persevere... However, and with all due respect, I find it very confusing when, instead of first and foremost showing us the simple beginning process in its entirety, you cut it several times short in the middle warning us not to do this or that mistake or that you talked to someone else about yet another mistake... My brain is geared to learn the simple and basic A and B and C first... As 1 - 2 - and 3... AND, if I don't get it, I repeat... Over and over until I get it and then, when I get it right be curious enough to inquire about possible mistakes I may make in the future and these I measure in the infinite... For we are human and liable to get distracted or bored or tired and then it becomes imperative to know where and why a I blew it and go back and re-do... Like when we are learning the basic notes of the scale at the piano you teach DO and then RE and then MI... You don't teach: "DO (but don't press SOL or FA or LA... for that is a mistake...)... " Extremely confusing... At least to me... Also, when learning something I find that too much language, too many words, muddle the understanding of the gist and beauty of the process... If I am going to learn anything at all I will absorb better and learn faster when words come to me in a concise and clear way and not as many different voices with different subjects that will carry my attention this and that and yet another way... I thank you for your tolerance and patience reading these lines and most certainly will continue to try to follow you in your quest to teach the beautiful needlework of Armenia... Love you...!!!

Omygoodness! So glad i found you. Been trying to do a rose i saw n cannot get it. Thanks to you being such a good speaker i finally have gotten further than i thought i could! 🥰 I have crochet a 18" doll dress that needs flowers as ribbon flowers are too big. This technique makes the perfect size but alas i have not been able to catch on till i found you! I will check out your channel. I hope to find a video explaining the type of threads to be useing for this artistry, 💓

The young fools in this country that want communism have no real idea what it is all about, they just want someone else to pay the price so they can be lazy.

I didn’t realize at first that you’re not leaving your thread attached to the ball, but cutting a piece. Is there a specific length or it doesn’t matter?
