Congrats and good luck! It’s the best (and hardest) days of your life - I think about how the kids made me laugh each day or what’s new in their lives, it’s a lot of fun. But it’s also a lot of work and we’ve gone through so much unexpected trauma. Don’t think it’s gonna be a cake walk, you never know, BUT you’ll most likely have many more great days than bad

Kev dawg.. I had no clue about the story behind your father. God that is heart breaking, but it makes so much more sense on why you are the way you are. Greg said it best you are pretty much Superman. If anyone says "yea i got a project I gotta do this weekend.. gonna move 13 bags of dirt around the yard" you are always the first one to say that you would be happy to help. I had a little bit of a similar upbringing as you.. My father was never in the picture and neither was my little cousins father so I took up that responsibility of teaching him those small things. This episode hit harder than I thought it was.. too many tears. You're gonna be a fricken AMAZING father and I cant wait to see your journey with the little one.

Imma leave 🤣 Not forever 🤣 but imma need to take a LOOOOOOONNGGGG ass walk, probably do a Seinfeld and sit on a bench on the boardwalk, and gather my thoughts. Then I'll be right back.🤣" She said, "You think we could hurry that up if I gave you a MetroCard?" 💀💀💀 Flash forward a almost a year and I come home from work one day and she's sitting on the couch in the living room, MetroCard in hand. 🤣 I grabbed that MetroCard and hugged TF outta her 🤣 Later, I would discover she should've given me 2 MetroCards that day. Twins 🤣

I do however have a great appreciation for the people who have kids that are very obviously excited and happy to be having kids cause those are the people that make the best parents (in my opinion). And everytime i make her laugh and give a big cheesy grin its the best feeling ever. The first couple months they'll pretty much just feed, sleep and cry. Then you'll blink and they'll be crawling towards all the plug sockets and valuables on a mission to chomp. Good luck Kev, what iv seen of you over the years of watching kinda funny i know you'll be a great dad. Just get as prepared as possible before it comes and it'll make the transition alot smoother. ✌️

My piece of unsolicited advice that I learned is: no matter what they say, baby's don't "just cry" for long stretches of time. Them crying is them saying "I need help" 90% of the time. And most of that time is something basic, Just check "are you hungry? Are you sleepy? You need changed? You need burped?" It's probably gonna be one of those things and you'll have a quiet happy baby. You're gonna crush it Kev! ❤❤❤
@Zondo3219 ай бұрын
Also in terms of "sleep schedule" obviously it will depend on kid and your schedule. But the cleanest and easiest thing we did was, my wife fed the baby ever hour or 2 at night so I did EVERYTHING else during the night. Burping, laying them down, and changing diapers. Not only cuz it makes it easy and clean to know who's "turn" it is, but also so you know when the last X was done and you don't have to ask the other whose trying to sleep about it
@furrybproductions9 ай бұрын
I'll one up that and say 99.96% of the time!

Father of a 3yo girl, and have a boy coming on October 6th. Really really emjoyed this episode. Would love to have a podcast every now and then thats like this one for Dads, whether new or old to really be able to talk about it. As a Dad who also goes above and beyond for my kid from Day 1 it was such a breath of fresh air to hear yall have the same energy about playtime and engagement as you do about the mundane tasks like feeding and diaper changing. Was shocked to hear how common it is from mothers I talk to now about how many men (that arent bad people!) had no interest in doing the dirty work when it came the early stages of childcare. All the best to you Kevin, youre gonna be a great father! Greg, keep killing it too! Warms my heart seeing the way you love your son.

I am so here for the Kinda Daddy Popcast!! Seriously though -- Thank you for today's catharsis, gentlemen. I had always been generally kind of indifferent about the prospect of having kids (I frequently said I'd leave it up to my partner)-- then my nephew came on the scene, almost 5 years ago now. In being able to care for him, and more recently my newborn niece, I have developed an acute baby fever that has not waned, even as the idea of finding the right person with which to be a father seems evermore ethereal (these apps are the worst, man). Conversations like this, even if I am not going to be a father anytime soon, or perhaps ever will be, help me sort through my complex feelings about things and share, however minimally, in Greg's joy and Kevin's excitement. To wit, I cried when I first saw Greg's announcement at the front of a random Kinda Funny Podcast episode, and I cried again watching it in the background of this video, on mute. Love y'all for that. ❤

You’re going to be great parents! Wishing you and your wife a healthy pregnancy and delivery! If I could recommend anything is the book (yes a book kev) called the “the daily dad” and it’s meant to be a pick up and put down, read a passage a day type thing. Really helped me understand and navigate my feelings becoming a dad. Also, all the advice you see on social media will make you feel a certain way, especially for the mom. Take it all with a grain of salt, treat it as ideas to try but never make it doubt yourself. We are all winging it as parents cause every kid is different. Congrats again!
