Being an independent agent has a lot of plus, but you have to remember that you are in business for yourself and you have to invest in your business. Like you Luis, I contract agents too and have the same exact issues with new agents wanting free leads. Not a real world. However, it is still worth a lot to be an independent agent.

I’d love to start an insurance with two of my friends, we are still trying to figure out best setting/ location , I feel of you don’t start alone is better. Main things is where to get leads that are not resold …? Possible starting out from a garage 😂 first .

Nothing wrong with starting an agency as a team. But here are my thoughts and this comes from my 25 years of experience. Define the roles, define who is in charge, and know what the exit strategy is when SHTF.

I had a partnership on another business. It’s rough. One will always work more than the other. One will spend or take more or want more. Frustration will start.

As far as leads, all leads vendors sell and resell leads. IMO, best way to generate leads is to create your own leads. Lead Vendors are using social media to generate leads. You should too.

Its a great idea. I use to do that quit a bit. I worked the flea market for years. It is a target rich environment for ACA. Also Medicare!!

As far as walking a strip center for business. Also, a great idea. Lots of mom and pop shops don't have health insurance

that too hard to say. It depends on whether you get a salary or hourly wage. Do they provide leads? Its super hard to say

You also need to let them know that the marketing organization you work with holds commissions for 3 months fro the day of issue. Who can be without a paycheck for 90 days?
