Smart not to risk it. That downhill run looked fun. Thank you for sharing your kit.

No worries. It's a decent amount of gear

It was really interesting watching each runner pick their own line on the downhill. I can't believe all that fit in your bag! I guess I'd better start practicing packing.

I totally agree! It was a lot of stuff to carry on the day - being the height of the summer, the waterproof trousers seemed overkill. When looking for stuff to buy, spend a few £ more and get the lighter ones

That's an impressive Kit last. Crazy how you fit that all into a single bag
@TrailRunningWales5 жыл бұрын
It was surprisingly light. Hopefully I won't get too much rubbing

This is awesome, super interesting to see what your kit includes. And, always, top footage 🙌🏻

Thanks for the comment :) obviously this may differ from ultra to ultra but I imagine 90% of them are very similar

Fantastic footage mate, really liked the drone shots. Good to see Al making an appearence as well. Looks like you are all sorted with your kit for the ultra, not long now!

Yeah it's getting so close that I just need to focus on my foam rolling and diet etc. Starting to get pretty nervous now

That was really interesting, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to my first ultra in the future

I've enjoyed the journey of getting myself up to this level just as much as doing the race. I love seeing progress and building a plan.

Will do. A couple more videos are already in the works

Brilliant mate really interesting, it’s mad how much you need to take but it’s vital to be safe out in the mountains and on trails on your own 👌 hope you had a great holiday, not long now till the race!
@TrailRunningWales5 жыл бұрын
Yeah - 2 weeks time, so tomorrow will be my last big effort before taper time. The interesting part is most of that stuff will just stay in my bag all day and not get used 🤷♂️

Love the beutiful trails you show off in your videos.

Interesting spot for the poles on that bag. What straps you using for that?
@TrailRunningWales5 жыл бұрын
The new salomon adv skin 12 comes with elastic chord that can be clipped onto different points on the bag. I haven't tried out the other ways yet, but I like having them there at the moment. Not much bounce, the only problem is that they aren't quick to get out and put back

Do you have your nutrition plan sorted for the race? Saw you have ellas kitchen pouches for your emergency calories - great idea, might have to try that for when the gels get a bit repetitive.
@TrailRunningWales5 жыл бұрын
Yeah nutrition all sorted. I'm using TailWind as my primary fuel source. But I'll be carrying some real food too and then munch a bit at checkpoints
@gingeral5 жыл бұрын
Who was the handsome Ginger fella jumping over the fence at the start? Remember don`t stay too long at the checkpoints, relax and enjoy! you know the course so that`s a bonus - I will try and get out on the course on the day and do some filming for you dude, make sure you brush your hair

Cap will be on at the start ;) I can't promise I'll look pretty later in in the race though 🤕
