Bar none, your best vlog.. From an Ole mullet chaser from Florida, this was pretty cool... As long as I didn't hear any banjos, I knew the story had a nice ending and pleasant storyline!! Course your not through GA yet!!. 😮. Thanks for the ride... BTW,, your drone footage was a fantastic view. Made me really get a feel for the adventure. Nice work.. The slow mo's of the river, were a nice touch too. Very documentary like.

Great video thank you! I made that same trip in the fall of 1978 in a Bristol 27. At that time there was one turning Bridge that was operated by hand by the operator walking around in circles to rotate the roadway. He would open the bridge on demand if he was in a good mood. Otherwise you might have to wait quite a while. If you are impatient and blew your horn more than once you would definitely have to wait quite a while.

Beautiful but brrrr, I remember living in northern Europe sailing in winter, taking an inland cur, beautiful yes but man I appreciated the heater. Living in the Tropics now, never want to go back to the cold, especially if the freezing wind kicks in. You are luck with that forest stopping the wind.

Did a dismal swamp trip headed north on our Pearson 365 in 21'. Also an electric sailboat. Very pretty and really low traffic that day so uneventful in a good way. Water was glassy smooth and reflected like a mirror. Really pretty that. Only complaint was the ~95F temp that day, but we survived. Buy the boiled peanuts in the visitor center!

So, the water resembles tea....which is made by soaking leaves in water giving it color and acidity🫖Also that acidity can be used in tanning processes. I once tanned leather in oak leaf "tea".

OMG. The exact same thing happened to my drone in the Dismal Swamp. I launched it when we were between tall trees, it didn't pick up the GPS signal (presumably). It got very confused, and then flew sideways into a tree and fell into the water. I never found it. The mourning process I went through ruined the rest of my trip through the Swamp. Then I laughed it off and got over it. I guess losing drones is an occupational hazard when you take the risk of flying over the water like you do. I'm very glad you got your drone back. Love your channel. Many thanks! Keep up the good work! The little footage I did get (starts at 2:31) was at the other end of the Swamp and is on this video. I was going north. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hInHoKeflKaEmNk

Just curious: you guys sailed offshore north but ICW south. What was the reason for that choice ?. I am hoping to go south in a couple of years and the many lock coordination, risk of grounding and traffic in the ICW makes me hesitate to take that path. You guys have done both so just curious what made you choose one versus the other ...
@BeauAndBrandy8 ай бұрын
Yes we would much have preferred to have exited the Chesapeake bay right into the ocean and straight south to Florida trying to avoid the Gulf Stream. But we needed to get south in a certain time frame and the ocean wind/weather would not let up for us to feel comfortable going offshore.
