The makeup is honestly such a great thing to do for these kind of movie 😂 maybe whenever there’s a outfit montage you could have feather boas (because those are always weirdly there in those scenes)

I grew up watching this movie. Yes, people poke fun at it because Lainey was gorgeous even before her makeover (and because her 'makeover' was merely a haircut and removal of the glasses). Still, I think it holds up quite well. Like you two said, I like that Lainey isn't a doormat and she stands up for herself. I also like that Zack seems like a genuinely good guy and his struggle with his identity and figuring things out at that age are very relatable and were handled pretty well for the time. I still love the choregraphed dance number at the prom to FatBoy Slim's iconic "Rockafeller Skank." It was sort of like a flashmob before flashmobs were a thing. But my absolute favorite part of the film is Matthew Lillard's dance at the party to Rick James's "Give It To Me Baby" because it always cracks me up.
