I don't know if you know this by now, but if you spend population to buy out, you lose population building towards your era star! This happened so that is why the food stars were so difficult in the early eras

04:05:15 In this game it is Ireland and Northern Britain instead of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Also, the Money-Island is a perfect fusion of Byzantine and Venice, with the name Konstantinopel and the placement in a bottleneck and with the whole money and trade on an island, while being located roughly like the Isle of Man (Man as in not the AI).

Ha! I liked this when it wasn't mainstream (i.e. during the stream). ----- On the other side (90-ish % drop in the active player base): many times when you simply save-load, the MacOS version (my one) crash the whole OS (no alt-tab). Or when I queue up too many things. Or buy too fast. Or have a longer battle (too many units; later I accept unnecessary losses by taking Instant resolution). Or not DoW the former vassal which has broken the vassalage (otherwise the game either crash or the city will be forever in the "occupied" state. It is my first experience of being forced to power off&on Mac to go forward. They really blow as it comes to non-PC distros. It breaks immersion and simply punish a player for playing. At some point maybe I'll try again with merely some hope of less buggy game. To compare it with Civ6, fully baked code, not buggy - to my experience, when I was able to play with mechanics and kick&scream for lack of Poland (present only in the intro video) or AI not fire-focusing on one unit to actually win battles & sieges. To compare it with Civ6 is to be cruel, yet to be aware of what we should have always expect from the game we are paying for. That's my stance of why the hype around Humankind dropped so badly and trust put into Amplitude vanished. Please take pains of MacOS gamers ("we gonna give the MacOS version the same time as PC... Actually in the matter of weeks after the PC version... Actually it's beta without subsequent betas until we finish... Actually (...)") into consideration when doing another "Why Humankind is so low in the number of active players?" video. Either way: I hoped for Venetians for influence, but mistakenly clicked Byzantines so... I guess you can rage-moderate this post :-) Still, you did great!

The reason I don't play on hardest difficulties is that I want to compare build orders and advancement pace without the other civs having unnaturally large amounts of blocking of them. (compared to a player who doesn't get free advantages)

Honestly I feel like the Ghanaians just read, "if you're already winning, WIN HARDER!" They're super OP, as long as you aren't being attacked by twelve AI already.

I typically play on Normal+1 difficulty, mostly because I absolutely hate how the simultaneous turns impact the combat. If it was traditional turn-based, I'd probably play on Humankind-1.

Yeah as I saw on Twitter it's probably a sync issue between your G2G account and your steam account. Try logging in to G2G and 'resyncing' you Steam login. Then, return to Humankind and sync there within the Community menu. Let me know how you get on!
