WAITING FOR FRIENDS IN THE PHILIPPINES (BecomingFilipino Province Life)

I made it to Baler, Aurora. Now it is time to wait for my friends to arrive so we can head on a random #BecomingFilipino adventure.
In this video you will see me making "tambay" at my friend JP's house, exploring the coastal areas of Baler, climbing a little mountain surrounded by ocean and just soaking in the Province Life.
Yup, Province life is AWESOME. Here is a little look at it.

Relaxing in the province. At times Philippines remind me of life in Iowa 40 years ago. All about family, friends, and community. Always a welcome smile and open hearts. (We just never had beautiful ocean. Either snow or corn and bean fields. ☺)

Shahani , Yes Iowa's largest cities are 70000 to 400000 population, But mostly rural state. Lots of very small towns. Mostly good people, but definitely has changed over the last few decades. I grew up in a town where everyone knew each other and most activities involved the community. Lots of community pot luck dinners growing up. State population is only around 4 million and lots if space. We like to complain about the weather, true 4 seasons. Winters can be harsh with temps down to 30 below 0 F. Summers can see temps in 90s and 100 F. I love this land. I live on the Western border along the Missouri River. The Loess Hill's run the entire Western Border. The are Bluffs that are wind deposited silt. They are only found in Iowa and China.

The more I watch your videos Kulas the more I love the Philippines. My plans to come back to Davao this summer seem to be slowly diminishing; but we will keep on striving to get back there. Renewing my wife's immigration documents will take some time so it looks like our trip will me delayed many months. This video and the one previous is showing me a part of the Philippines that I did not know existed. No matter where you go, from Mindanao to Luzon, your videos inspire me and keep me motivated to do what I have to do to get back to this beautiful country. STAY SAFE KULAS!!

Nice looking dog. The drone shots look great. Wow, what scenery. Yes it is a nice hat, but far too small for me. I also love the simple places. I would love to start at the tip of the southern islands and go north to the northern tip of Luzon. I think the trip would last about a year, taking it slow and easy. Thanks for sharing. Great vid. Hey Kulas.... like I commented on ur other video, there are certain words that Ilocanos don't use as much or not at all in everyday conversation. For example, we often use "ingat" or "be careful" rather than "agalwad ka". 😊😊😊
